Northern Dis Meet Update - **Cancelled**

Hi guys, really sorry but I am now not going to be able to make this meet I did the typical make thing of making plans without consulting my missus, and it is her Dads birthday that weekend so we will be away. Gutted, and I hope you to definitely make the next meet. Hope you guys have a fantastic time

It's such a shame that there has not been more of a response regarding the deposit so far. I hope that this will still go ahead.

Sorry I haven't been in touch, I've been really busy lately.

I'm not able to commit to the meal at the moment, as I'm doing some overtime at work that day and I don't know what time I will finish. Do you think we'd be able to add more people once the deposits have been collected? If not, I will hopefully be able to drop by for some drinks afterwards or something.

First day back at work for me today and unfortunately it's not good news
I am on 12 hour day shifts all week that week and asked today about getting it swapped but it's not an option I'm afraid.
Looks like I will spending my 40th birthday weekend tired out on the settee - not what I had planned at all

I'm beginning to wonder if we should change the date to sometime in the New Year? Any thoughts? Do you think we should try and wait for some more responses?

I am fine with either the existing date or moving it to next year as long as it won't be in January.

Numbers seem to be dwindling fast for the November date, any more updates from others who showed interest?

Hmmm well I may leave this about for another week or so and see if there's any more people for November.

If we could get about 8-10 of us it'd probably be worth continuing with this one and then maybe doing another in the first part of 2011 to try and allow people who missed this one to join us

Just a quick update guys, I've called the restaurant today and reduced the numbers down to 10 people for now.

I have said I'll contact them on Monday next week with our final decision, as I don't want to hold up their tables with it getting closer to Christmas

Guys, I'm going to have to cancel this meet

The restaurant will be contacting me tomorrow and with only 3 of us having sorted their deposits, I'm going to let them know we won't need the tables. It's approaching their Christmas period and I don't want to hold their tables any longer.

Thank-you for those who have replied and said they can or can't make it and I'm sorry I've not been able to do this successfully for everyone. I hope someone else may attempt one next year and see how it goes. I'd like to go to one sometime, so if anyone else wants to try then I'd be more than happy to join them if I'm free when the meet is.

For those who have paid deposits, could you please send me your email address and I'll return the money you have paid through Paypal.

Again, I'm sorry it's not worked out and that we didn't get to meet fellow Dis'ers at this time

Thanks, but I feel like I've let people down. Yet there wasn't much more I could do if I'm honest.

What a shame. This might well have been my last chance at a Northern meet as well. I won't be around for most of January and I also applied for a job in Dubai. So with a bit of luck I will be leaving Manchester and the UK in early 2011.
