DH here ... uh ... I take exception that my DW would say I have NOTHING better to do. After all, we'll be on a DISNEY CRUISE ... not a Carnival Cruise! Anyway, charging $500 is BUNCO (and I do NOT mean the game). Usually, a photographer has been more than happy to take pictures (from deck 4, between the elevators, looking down on deck 3, at Lumiere's / Triton's entrance). In fact, they usually will take all the personal cameras, so that everyone will have their own pics, as well.

I forget if this had been set up through the Photography desk, or whether someone asked a photographer on their own. If nothing else, I guess we could always slip the photographer some sort of gratuity for their time. If nothing else, I am SURE there would be many people would who prefer the *professional* picture ... whether becasue they are out of camera memory on their camera ... they forgot their camera ... or they have a lesser quality camera. I mean, geez, how many thousands of pics does DCL take ... knowing many will not be purchased.

If I can remember ... I would be willing to check with Photography about this (unless someone else has already indicated they would handle the matter). Someone just has to let me know if there is a tentative date / time. This is something that is best to schedule WAY in advance, when everyone has access to their computer ... perhaps ADDED to the other lists (LANYARD, FE, etc) ... as a gentle reminder. If I am not mistaken, there isn't a separate DISer schedule being created for these cruises ... is that correct?


FWIW ... I can look into this for REPO as well ... again ... assuming nobody else has already indicated they would handle the matter. I merely ask that SOMEONE come up with the date(s) and time(s) for the picture session.

Hi Steven, I inquired directly at the photography desk....Shutters....and I was told that it would cost us because they are booked solid.

I'm not sure if you are talking about a DIS group picture or a Champagne Girls picture. It would be nice to have both.

For the Champagne Girls picture.....I will post some on this board and whomever would like to can copy from my pictures. That works for anyone who doesn't have a camera with them at the Tasting.

1. FE exchange rules. There are no rules. Do whatever you are comfortable with.

3. Understand no roster is perfect. Use your best judgment. The last cruise I was on there was a stateroom with an FE hanging outside, yet nobody knew who they were and they appeared on no roster. 2 other rooms who were thought to participate, had no FE.

Hey guys, keep us in your prayers. We might not be joining you in a couple of weeks. Jason's dad has been dealing with some heart issues and it looked like everything was starting to even back out, they were regulating his irregular heart beat with meds. Now they've discovered he may have a blockage. He's got to go off his meds and go for blood work early next week and then they're going to run some tests the middle part of the week. If things don't improve prior to the cruise we won't be going. Jason's dad is 77 and his parents are all he has left.

Oh Emily, this is heartbreaking. I'll keep Jason's dad in my prayers. Let's hope for some great improvement.

Wow, I've never packed earlier than the night before. We only had 1 item to buy for packing, and that was rain ponchos. I wanted to wait and buy them onboard because I'd rather have cute DCL ones (because you know they'll have them since they KNOW we'll need them and will be spending money buying them, LOL!), but my little Mr. Logic insisted I save money and buy the cheap $4 ones here. Cruise shopping done. Now toss a bunch of clothes in our suitcase and we're done.

What about laying all the clothes out and sorting them and eliminating most and packing what's left. Don't you go through that process?

What about the "Don't Forget To Do" list....that keeps getting longer not shorter?

I'll be gone for three weeks total. And I have hot and cold clothes to pack.

I could NEVER do it the night before.

I give up trying to fit everything into two suitcases. I will be over weight so I might as well pay for the third suitcase and be done with it! Besides, it will give me more room to bring home stuff!! I could do it if we were just doing the Alaska portion, but with the repo and a couple of days at DL, it just won't work!

Usually when DH John and I cruise we drive to FL and get onboard. Afterwards we do WDW and then drive home.....easy. This time we're doing 4 nights in LA, two cruises, one night in Vancouver and a train ride to Seattle, plus we're flying both ways. That's a lot of transitioning and lugging suitcases around. So we have limited ourselves to one large rolling Duffle bag each. That's the hard part.....getting three weeks worth of hot and cold clothes in one bag. EEK!!!

Sorry to be such a slacker on the boards, but with everything going on, it has been crazy here with Jamie now not going on the cruise and spending the summer working in the College Program at Walt Disney World at the last minute has got me trying to re-figure everything out! But if anyone makes it to WDW this summer, they might just catch my daughter dancing or performing on property, or in a parade, or she might even be really close to one of the characters!

Anyway, I just couldn't pull together a scrapbook class for this cruise and glad someone else is willing to do something. I just shipped 90 pounds of products and books for the repo, and our group is going to have a blast.

Buried at work, haven't even started packing, oh....and I guess I need to file an extension on my taxes since I won't have them done by tomorrow. Cruising is much more important (and I have a small refund coming so I'm not too worried about it.)

Okay, I am actually working today and took a few minutes to catch up on the boards. Can't wait to see everyone and be on the ship for 2 weeks.

Sorry Jamie won't be cruising with us, but what an awesome opportunity to be working in the College Program at WDW. I'll look for her if I'm down this summer!!!!
