Air Canada has some flights into Phila (change planes) leaving at 12:00 and later. Their price is a good one compared to US Air, etc. Southwest is great flying out of Seattle, but you must get to Seattle (Cascades train, etc.)

We did not go with Southwest for the return trip, because it would involve one extra day in a hotel (Seattle area). When we were searching for Air Canada flights (eastbound), we found that there were many more options available, when we selected Montreal as a layover (in lieu of layover in the northwest US).

Hello all...

Long absent here...we've switch from our suite to a regular verandah room along the way. But that way I can continue to travel the world next year.

Anyway...I'm totally being lazy and my FlyerTalk friends would flame such laziness...but I'm almost ready to book our flights. Is a 12pm departure on the day we arrive in Vancouver "safe?"

I'm flying to the east coast so the choices are basically 630a and 12p...at least on my preferred carrier. If the 12pm will work we can go in first class...hooray.

Thoughts?

Thanks...somewhere over MN at the moment, on the way to LV for the day. I think we will be on the ground in about 7 or 8 states in the next 24 hours. Woo hoo!

I can certainly do that. didn't want to clog up the thread

But.. this will be our third DCL cruise.. First was the quick P.C. to Nassau to CC and back cruise.. we were with 6 of her family members.. so at first, we didn't want to go

That cruise was fun.. then we went on the 7 day western carib cruise.. that was great!

So.. always wanted to go to Alaska.. so booked the 7 day..

Then .. the nice hubby I am. she fell in love with the Dream and Magic. and wanted to go on the first cruise of the Fantasy.. So.. got a nice veranda room on the 8th desk for the first cruise the Fantasy will do. that will be #4..

Inlaws want to go on another. and then in 4 years, it's our 10th anniversary.. we want to now do the eastern carib cruise and renew our vows on the beach

I've told our cruise stories (all good) to many friends and coworkers.. and many have also booked as well!

Found this site a few months ago.. skimmed it a while back.. but once you dig into the threads, there is a TON of good information..

I think anything after noon is supposed to be considered safe. We're east coast as well and having a hard time finding a decent flight, same choices you had, early morning or late at night. Has anyone there heard of a mid-afternoon flight?

Just booked our flights...they (Delta) were so very helpful. We are set in first class, woo hoo! And having $800 in credits from flying this weekend didn't hurt either. The best part is we can have 3 bags each at 70lbs. I will sublease space in my luggage if you are flying back to DCA.

I heard that Alaska Airlines is closing their lounge in YVR. That is very disappointing...

Now I have to figure out what we want to do and where to stay before the cruise. We just went to Disneyland and I don't plan on going anywhere near there since it's Easter weekend. We fly in on Saturday so we have some time to play. I think our friends booked the night before the cruise via DCL and also have DCL transfers...we may do that at least for the night prior to the cruise.

I'm headed down to Orlando for the weekend...is anyone there this weekend?

I haven't made it to the thread in a while. The last few months have been crazy busy with house renos, moving, and starting a new job. Luckily, the new job will allow me the time off for the cruise, so we are still able to go on both the repo and the Alaska. Soon we'll have to book flights. Hopefully I haven't missed out on too much of the planning

Sorry, rcostello, we'll just miss you at the World! We'll be there next weekend. We also booked our flights and have our cruises paid for. We are going to Disneyland for 5 nights before the repo, yes over Easter. A part of me thinks it is nuts and a part of me says what better way to spend Easter! We're staying at the Fairmont Waterfront for a night post-cruise, since we couldn't make flights back home to Florida in time. Plus, it will let us enjoy a bit of Vancouver. Right now, we have transfers to the LA port booked with Disney. I know someone on the repo was planning on trying to put together another option, but I haven't heard anything definite.

My BFF who is doing the Alaska leg only is flying into Seattle from Richmond VA and just found a fare of $350 to Seattle. It wont benefit DH and me because we are doing the repo crusie and have to fly in the day we leave so we are booking our air through Disney to guarntee they will get us to the ship.

Good News and Bad New regarding the cruise. The bad news is my mom and aunt had to back out of the cruise. I'm bummed that they won't be joining DH and I but there is always the next time! The good news is that I just purchased airfare for the cruise and our trip to Disneyland after the cruise. Makes it seem a bit more real. Now if Disney would release to cruise excursions they plan on offering!
