My DW & I are going on this cruise as well...
and we thought about it, and we are making a two week adventure out of it and we are on the LA to Vancouver as well...it seems more have the same idea, PARTY TIME is it?
how do we get on the list?
we have the same cabin for both cruises so no unpacking.....YEA!
we would like to join the list & anything else:

Bob should pick this up and add you to the roster, or, it looks like you have enough posts to send him a PM, you could do that also. Someone who is more computer literate than I am will have to tell you about pictures in your signature.

Bob-correction to the roster, Scott and I will be closer to celebrating our 31st anniversary, not 25th. But, hopefully, we will be celebrating Scott's Retirement! (but I am not holding my breath). We have also changed to Main seating, or we are trying to do so.

Hi all ... just got the following email from Harv & Marv's. They plan whale watching tours in Juneau, Alaska. I have signed Kirstyn and I up. If you are interested in joining us, please let me know. Sounds like the bigger our group, the cheaper our cost. You can contact them directly, but please mention that you would like to be in my group, so we can reduce the cost. Their cancellation policy sounds great (30 days notice), and no money is required until two months out.

Here is a link to their website. Looks like the tour includes a stop at Mendenhall Glacier. I have asked for more information about what they mean by stop

We currently have openings on the morning of May 7th. An option would be to pick you up near your ship (Disney Wonder) at 8:30 am with a return to your ship around 12:30 or 1:00. We have some flexibility so if this time does not work for you please let us know and we will see what we can do to better accommodate your schedule.

Our rates are $149.00 per person including tax. If you find others to join you we can work with you as we have space available, and adjust the price accordingly. We can also take individuals credit cards from your group. In the event that you would like to book one of our tours our policy for making a reservation is simply an email or phone commitment from you with the following information:


Name of each passenger and Age
Mailing Address (main Contact)
Contact Phone Number (Cell & Home)
Cruise Ship Name
Arrival Date

Note Any Special Needs

Once we receive this information we will send you a confirmation number via email and any relevant information. To make your reservation we do not require a deposit. We ask for full payment 60 days prior to your tour date. In the event you should need to cancel there is a 100% refund 30 days prior to your tour. However, if payment is made with a credit card and you wish for a refund check, a 4% credit card processing fee will be deducted from the total amount. If you wish to have the amount credited back to your card, an 8% credit card processing fee will be deducted from the total amount. If payment is made with a check, a refund check for the full amount will be mailed to you. If the cancellation is 30 days or less from the tour date, there will be a cancellation fee of 20%.

The whale watching thing sounds cool. I also found http://www.alaskazip.com/ which does ziplining, tours to Medenhall Glacier, and the Aerial Tram (although I didn't see a tour that did all 3 together. Just ziplining with one of the other 2).

Has anyone done this before? How was it?
Would anyone be interested in doing this?

We're going to do the ziplining and hoping that we can also do the whale watching with it. Depends on time.

Summer is officially gone, my plans for December cruise are finalized so now I can begin to focus on Alaska.
What is everyone doing for airfare? We are planning to go to Disneyland post cruise which is making my search for airfare interesting to say the least.

We are flying to the port the day before the repo cruise leaves, then flying back from Vancouver a couple days after the cruise ends. The different cities just makes it a bit more interesting - but not too much more expensive.

Don't know if it's been discussed here (OK...I have 2 vacations before this one so I'm not in the Alaska mind-set yet!)...but there will be and Adventures By Disney add on for the Alaska cruises. (just saw that in Erik & Jason's Med. blog comments section. They had done a presentation on the DVC members cruise and announced that)

I think they recommend flights that leave after 1 (possibly 12). We're having the worst time finding flights that fit those parameters. The flight there is no problem, but all the flights we've seen so far either leave Vancouver in the morning or at night and arrive the next day.
