North To Alaska--May 3, 2011 on the Disney Wonder

Where there's a will, there's a way! :thumbsup2
Never under-estimate a bunch on disboarders. :lmao:

Ken

Add me to the lanyard club too!

Epcotkilterfan is on the ship, and since she officially inaugurated the fish extenders, maybe she will be willing to organize?

We too are on the B2B. I find it very fascinating that the Repo cruise to Vancouver spends the night in SF. So, our kids [who will not be on the cruise] will be meeting us in SF. We live in the Napa Valley -- 45 miles to the north. So, if any of you need any info regarding attractions or restaurants in the area, let me know.

We will be in room 6616 and are so excited. Just one question -- do we remove our luggage, etc. between the cruises?

We are so excited about this cruise.

Leslye

Just left stateroom 6616 last week on the Wonder from the DVC Member Cruise. It is very handy, just off the AFT elevators and easy access on the stairs either going up or down.

If you have any questions about 6616, ask away while my mind is still fresh. You know...old age and you start to forget things.

Also, you can leave all your stuff in your stateroom when doing a B2B and you are staying in the same place. It will be interesting to see what DCL will make us do since we are disembarking in Canada, maybe we won't have to get off the ship? Now, that would be nice......

We can plan a big DIS MEET for the B2B before boarding begins if we stay on the ship. Like a Jimmy Buffet party.....it will be 5 o'clock somewhere!

Count me in for the B2B!!

I'm in 6567 for both - can't wait!

Not sure if I'll do DL before (GASP!) - thinking of doing things I've never done before on the West Coast....1 think for sure is the QM in Long Beach.

Looking so forward to seeing familiar faces & meeting new people!!:thumbsup2

Hi all...we're considering booking the repo and first Alaska cruise. Like others, if I'm flying out to the west coast, I'd like to do Disneyland. I've never been to San Francisco and always wanted to go. Plus, the longer cruise sounds wonderful. That would be our only vacation for the year, but it would be a blast. I can't book until the 28th and have no real idea on prices, but we're definitely doing Alaska at some point in 2011. Might as well make a big trip out of it and save on airfare!

Yeah Monica's going too!!!!:banana::banana:

Yes she is onboard for the Alaskan cruise....but she still needs peer pressure to push her over the edge in deciding to book the repo and just do the B2B with us! I've been emailing her with my "cummon....you know you wanna!!!" notes, but everyone else can feel free to jump in, too! :thumbsup2 We all know peer pressure works best when you work in a pack mentality! ;)

OK, I'll post this here as well too:

Just a thought - seeing as there are so many people doing this as a B2B, mightn't it make more sense to have one thread for the entire LA to Alaska and then treat each as a segment, people joining for segment 1, segment 2 or both?

It might make it less confusing than 2 separate threads.

Just my thoughts.

I like that idea.....1 thread is alot easier to keep up with!

As a fellow B2Ber I'm certainly not opposed to that idea, either, since it will make my life easier to track one thread rather than two (plus the threads for the two cruises we have between now and 2011-----B2B of the last Med. in 2010 and then the WBTA). However, I wonder if the powers that be (moderators? tag fairy? DIS gods? Mickey himself...under some anonymous screenname :lmao:) discourage combining meets from two separate trips onto one thread since it might make the thread seem less welcoming to anyone who isn't doing both cruises??

As my mother used to say, "If you don't ask, you don't get."

I have heard we have to get off, but I don't know about luggage.

If you have the same cabin # for both cruises there is no need to pack up. :cool1:
At Port Canaveral the whole process only took us an hour and we were back on board. pirate:
However as we are arriving in Canada.......I can only guess it may take longer with customs etc. :confused3

I'm such a complete dork. In my mind's eye I envisioned getting off for a bit at Port Canaveral! Obviously I wasn't thinking clearly since we'll be in Vancouver and not FL. hahaha
If they don't make us get off the ship- something tells me this cruise may have an extraordinary amount of B2B'ers on it? Maybe I'm wrong.. but maybe I'm right. LOL We'll see.

In Vancouver it will be the U.S. citizens who are the aliens. Maybe they'll herd all the aliens into the theatre to clear immigration at an ungodly hour as they used to do in DCL with the non-U.S. passengers.

Afterall, turn around is fair play, isn't it?

Although I've neer been there, I've heard from a number of friends (both Canadian and American) that Vancouver is a truly fabulous city and that we will probably WANT to get off the ship to experience it if we can. I've even had some friends suggest we get a hotel and plan to stay a few days in Vancouver after the trip.

(And isn't Vancouver the host for the 2010 Winter Olympics? So when we're there early in 2011 the city will still be riding high after that, perhaps, and there may be really great sites/buildings/etc. to see from that, as well!)
