North Texans: Check in!!

That was some crazy, wild, SCARY thunderstorm that rolled through here a little while ago. How'd you fare?

We just lost a limb from a tree. Neighbor three doors down lost their whole fence on one side. Friend nearby is telling of uprooted mature trees in her neighborhood -- one fell on a pickup truck! ack!

So, how'd it go for you?

Central Texas........so, I missed it. We really need the rain here, too. But I'm glad I saw your post. Sis lives in Ft. Worth and Mom lives in Wichita Falls, I should check on them.

Another, lighter, round of storms is fixing to roll through now.

We got quite a bit of CRAZY goings on!!! A tornado touched down about a mile from my house!! It blew the air conditioner off of the roof of the theatre where my dh was directing, leaving a 4 ft. by 8 ft. hole over the stage where rain was pouring in!!

We were about 10 miles north, where my dd was having a dance dress rehearsal. They stopped the rehearsal and sent everyone to the band hall, where the power went out shortly thereafter. Nothing like being in the dark with several hundred other people!!

I heard Flower Mound got hit really hard!! I am definitely watching the news tonight!!!

We had rain, wind, thunder, and lightning, but I don't think we had any damage in the NRH area. My mom's electricity is still out in Burleson, but I don't think they had any bad damage.

Checking in from North Texas.. We made it thru those yucky storms.. thank goodness!

I still hear it rumbling a little out there now, but I think the worst is over..

We have roof damage--shingles blown off. I watched in horror as our trampoline became airborne and, after two complete flips, landed on the roof over the master bedroom! Then it tumbled off and wedged under our arbor cover. Our damage could have been a lot worse! Dh came home via Dove over near Trophy Club and said it was really bad--lots of trees down, big trees swaying, he had trouble keeping the truck on the road.

No damage cept a few small tree limbs. The storm was so bad here that we couldn't see off the porch!!!!

The girls were on their way to the Rangers game with their friend's church youth group and then the turned around because of the tornado warning...

Flower Mounders and Lewisvillers?

We are Flower Mound/Lewisville people (actually Highland Village...but, the same area). We are the ones where a tornado touched down about 2 miles from our house.

The only damage to our house was a knocked down fence, and a torn canopy on a covered swing. There are lots of tree limbs down in our neighborhood, and surrounding neighborhoods are without power.

Supposedly, there are snapped power poles and downed trees on 2499 between 1171 and 407. I have friends in Wellington (Flower Mound) whose ears popped and eyes watered as some REALLY high winds came thru. They are definitely thinking tornado. I have heard reports of a tornado at Marcus H.S., and also really bad weather around Flower Mound H.S., but don't know any details.

I also have a friend who lives on the Flower Mound/Highland Village border whose cast iron patio furniture was picked up and blown out of her yard. WFAA.com has some good pics!!!

My brother said via Facebook that it missed his church, but a tree fell on the house across the way. Totally trashed the neighborhood and lots of shingles are missing.
I guess he was trying to help clean up debris and said he is soaking wet?

It came close to us but only see a few leaves. Not bad at all compared to a some past storms. I think we were just on the edge.
