North Korea has launched two missiles.

I think this action tells us three things:

1) N Korea is basically impotent to actually carry out a threat
2) N Koreo is led by a crazy man
3) China (N Korea's big sugar daddy) could have stopped this; must be a reason they did not :confused3

In answer:
1) So far
2) I agree
3) Good question

I'm just wondering what these launches are all about. Tests?

So they are now saying they launched up to six over 4 hours. That little guy over there is a real nut job.

Maybe he was just celebrating the 4th of July crazy dictator style?

I think it really is about provocation. I know I may sound like a conspiracy theorist (really, I'm not :teeth: ), but I think it may be more China provoking US than about N Korea. At any rate, China would seem to be sending a message thru their action or inaction

Well said. N Korea is a gad fly at best. China makes me worry.

Yep, what the last 2 posts said!

One good thing (well, actually six)
is that the first one only stayed up 35 seconds,
and the next five all landed in the Sea of Japan.
I think the UN started drafting some kind of emergency
declaration about the whole incident,
(not that that will carry any weight or accomplish anything).

i read that there was a 7th missile lauched last night 4:30 AM est. it's on cnn.com

I am wondering what's going on with China too. It's not a good sign, that's for sure.

And with this 7th missile so many hours later I'm really wondering since China would certainly have had the ability to stop this by now.

I'm assuming Japan will pull all or most of the aid they send NK now but that may not even affect NK if what I suspecting about China is true since these tests (if directed by China) probably came with promises of aid.

1) At this time, N Korea is incapable of striking the US; however, IMO their land and air forces could easily overrun S Korea, including our 30,000 troops. The US would eventually win the war but it would take months or years.
2) I agree...his father was a nut case too.
3) I don't know about this one. China and the US have had an excellent relationship lately.

That would definately be cool, however, I think that their missiles have failed of their own accord. Oh well. This goes to show however that Ronald Reagan had the right idea. I loved that guy! (still do)

Gotta agree with you there. We love him too, matter of fact we're in San Diego now to meet the USS Ronald Reagan when it returns to home port tomorrow.
