I have a friend from Illinois who went there to buy furniture for his new home (for the entire 5000 SF home!)
The place that they went to was called Furniture South. It is world reknown
for having the best prices from all furniture manufacturer's. Directly
across the street is Boyle's Furniture and not too far away is Thomasville.
They have a "showroom" that is approximately the size of 8 football fields!
He said to allot at least 2-3 days to be there. It tends to be a
bit overwhelming.
They saved at least $50,000.00 from their entire order. Furniture there is
50-75% off of prices here. The only company that doesn't seem to discount
furniture is Thomasville, but there is no tax and no delivery charge which
saves money regardless.
I told another friend of mine about this and she only wanted a dining room set. When I gave her the name of the place she said that her husband knew the owner (her husband is an ex. pro-football player so I'd imagine he's met just about everyone). Anyhow, they ordered a dining room set only through that place and still ended up saving money.
Good luck. I've always wanted to do something like that.
