Current Incentives ie Magical Beginnings, Disney visa etc

I have to say, those one bedrooms in the PIT look AMAZING. Curses DVCfan for making it look so good. :P I had let go of buying more Poly and then I watched the room reviews from DVC fan and I was like..DANG! I need more Poly points.

So, I am back to where I started with either buying VGC or more Poly or more VDH, but VDH is falling further down the list for me.
It's for sure a hard choice. I was certain I would buy Poly over VDH because of the restrictions and well I just dont love VDH. But it made more sense for me since I visit DL so much more than WDW.

The stingray gets me every time
I know! So gorgeous. If it wasn't 40 points/night for the dates I mostly want, I'd be signing a contract right now.

I'm in the same spot. I live in Socal and I also hate flying. So, there's that.
I am partial to the bathrooms in the one bedrooms. It's my favorite part of VDH too!
The bathrooms have been amazing at VDH in the studios. I've only been in studios and duos there. I think the TOT for a one or two bedroom would blow my mind.

Yeah that TOT would easily add $100+ a night for larger units! :faint:

Ive paid for a 2 bed and a 1 bed there. Paying for them with a gift card makes it a little less painful, cant pay for the hotels on harbor with a GC. Also the TOT is much less tax than if paying for a cash room at Disney. This is what I tell myself when I think about how I own so many points there 🫣

Part of the reason I am tempted by PVB direct is so I can use it for VDH without touching my VGF points. I doubt I would ever be able to book anything larger than a studio without owning it. I'd rather pay the TOT than full cash prices.

For a planned trip probably not more than a studio, but there are 1 beds that randomly pop up you can snag if you are flexible with your dates.

If I considered anything it would have to be enough to cover 1-bedrooms. I doubt the incentives will support that math, but I can always hope/dream!

I actually saw a decent BLT pop up on the resale market and I told myself I would place an offer on it once I found out about the new direct incentives, but it looks like someone else snatched that BLT up TODAY so it can't temp me anymore.
What was the offer I think it might have been me ?

I’ve been researching DVC for a couple months now, and I’m just now discovering Developer Credit, Magical Beginnings, and Disney Visa rebate. I like the shorthand used on the site, but it’s easy to miss what some of them are. I had mentally blocked ROFR for over a month, until I actually looked it up.

Is any of this actually on the DVC site?

Are you asking about the different incentive types listed on the DVC website run by Disney, or the abbreviations used here on DISboards?

DVC doesn't really publish each separate discount and explain what it is on the main DVC website. It will say "you can save up to X dollars, contact a guide to find out how!" The discounts have a posted expiation, but can change at any time. Developer credits, D23 discount, and Disney Visa discount don't apply to all resorts and Magical Beginnings only applies at 150+ points purchased and the value in the rebate has changed from $22 to $20. There are usually new threads shared here when promotional periods start and people post the pricing charts that guides send out. That will show the entire breakdown in price. This is a great example: https://www.disboards.com/threads/late-summer-early-fall-incentives.3970319/post-66252564

Trusted sources like http://dvcnews.com/ and https://dvcfan.com/ will also share information about the new incentives after Disney releases them.

As for abbreviations on the DIS, this should be helpful: https://www.wdwinfo.com/abbreviations.htm

If someone posts something and you are unsure what the abbreviation is you can also ask and a DISer will gladly reply with what it means.
