Someone posted a link to some Clorox wipes that are supposed to kill Norovirus after 3 minutes...I clicked on the link and it just took me to the Clorox site and I can't find anywhere online where I can buy them...can someone point me in the right direction of where I can buy some of these? Just want to get them to wipe down our room when we get on the cruise...we will be washing our hands religiously:)

Have a container in my suitcase. Note it is large and heavy. About 6 inch diameter and 8 inches long. Larger than usual wet wipes canister.

If you want a back up for hand cleaning when you might be at port and away from good sinks and soap then pick up some wet ones travel packs. They also kill noro and work great on the skin since I don't think the Clorox hydrogen peroxide ones are good for your hands.

I will say the rooms are wiped down between each cruise so that isn't really how noro spreads. It spreads more by kids in the kids club and then people who bring it onto the cruise with them and then touch handles and elevator buttons etc.

Ultimately it's spread when we put our fingers in our mouths, really.

Or when we eat something that has been touched by a contaminated finger or utensil. I once scared a little boy, about 7 or 8 years old, who was about to use his fingers to put back a pancake at the buffet that he decided that he did not want. I told him very firmly that he had to keep it on his tray several times over in order to stop his process. Once the process was stopped I explained that this was because he had touched it and if he did not want it, he should pass it to a CM to throw away. I think he thought I was very scary - but his actions were pretty scary, too!

True it ultimately doesn't matter until it gets in our bodies but I truly believe most people don't pick it up in their stateroom they pick it up in the common areas or at the buffets when people who may be sick but are pushing through might touch something. I guess you could get it from your stateroom host if they are sick and didn't realize it yet.

That was actually one of the interesting facts that I learned from that recent reported outbreak: How few of the crew had it compared to passengers. To me this seemed to be a very good sign that the crew is very well trained in how to not spread the disease and therefore was less prone to pick it up. It would be interesting to know where those who got it worked, I could imagine that it were mainly Youth Counsellors.
