NOOO!!! the rumours are true about indy :(

To be honest, I have not read any of this thread, but all I can say is I tried to do Indy tonight as the 'last ride of the night' and yep, it broke down and they just closed it completely since it was so close to midnight.

All I can say is this ride needs a seeeeeeerious rehab! I dont care if they shut it down for a year, just get it to a point where it doesnt break down 3-4 times daily like it seem to do now.

My thoughts exactly, DLRfan31. As much as I love Indy, BTMRR is DS's favorite ride. We arrive the day before Thanksgiving and I'm crossing my fingers, too.

I guess I posted too soon, I just found this in David Koenig's column on another site......

"Among the most noticeable changes will be widening the bridge in the “big room” to accommodate a new car maneuver. “They want to eliminate the chance that vehicles will put guests in precarious situations if they stop there," said one cast member. "The zone afterwards is a notorious spot where vehicles get ‘lost.’”

Although other online sources cite Big Thunder Mountain as next in line, that coaster’s top-to-bottom safety update/rebuild is not scheduled to begin until January."

I knew there was a light at the end of the tunnel!

You made my night! I'm wading through this thread for our mid-nov visit. BTMRR is our fave. Indy has been down when we've tried to ride it the past 2 visits. That's not a huge deal (for me) as we weren't even able to ride it when it was open .

Does anyone know if there are any plans to fix all the broken in-queue special effects? I rode Indy quite a lot last fall and everything seemed to be working fine. The cool / interactive stuff that I heard is supposed to happen while waiting in line didn't. :confused3

It does go down so much that probably many people miss it throughout the year anyway. We will be there when it's down but even though I'm sad. I'm excited that it will be that much better when it reopens...

We'll be at Disneyland in 2 weeks time, travelling from Australia and last night on the phone I made the mistake of asking my 6 year old nephew what he was looking forward to the most about his trip to Disneyland, and you guessed it INDY was his reply, I didn't have the heart to break it to him, hopefully once he's there will be plenty to distract him, but I've really gotta feel badly for the little guy.

That's a bummer!!! I rode this ride about 15 years ago when I was a much younger teen and I was looking forward to introducing it to my DS and Nephews. I am kinda surprised they would be down during Thanksgiving, but it sounds like indy needs a face lift, don't tell Harrison ford I said that.:wave2:

Can anyone confirm that the Indy rehab started on time yesterday? I seem to remember that they were waiting for some parts and if the parts didn't arrive in time the rehab would be delayed.

The Indy rehab wasn't expected to start until tomorrow according to all reports. Sept. 4-Dec. 7. Today's MiceAge update indicated that Indy is still expected to close tomorrow, so perhaps someone will confirm for you tomorrow.

I know lots of people are upset, but I am thrilled. This attraction needs a ton of TLC and it's getting it. I look forward to its grand re-opening and I hope they can get back to its original glory.
