It says on the website that the Nook has wi-fi anywhere and free access in at&t hotspots. Does that mean that the connection is not free at places that are not at&t or can you go into, McDonald's or anywhere that has a wireless signal and get internet for free as well?

ETA: I am talking about the Nook for $149. Is the 3G let you get online ANYWHERE, like if you are riding in the car you can get online even if there isn't a hotspot near by?

I'm curious about this too. I've really been thinking about buying a nook!

I have the nook with wi-fi and 3g

The 3g works anywhere but it is for downloading books and also for their section called "the daily"

The wi-fi works anywhere you can get online. So when camping I used it on the wi-fi network at the campground to get some yankee scores on the browser.

I haved the 3g while in the car to get that days NY Times.

I have the 3G so I'm not sure how it works with the other one, but I was able to get onto the network while camping last weekend to download a new book. :)
