I do not see any damage on my page turner tabs but have suddenly been having trouble... After reading this Im a bit concerned. My husband was talked into a two year warranty at B&N so I am covered, but this is a bummer. I Love my Nook LOVE it!! I do not want a color one or 3g one, but I would love the new B&W touch Nook
Question how do you turn the page without using the tabs on the side?
((SN Kindle vs Nook kinda sounds like a kooky arguement they are both e-readers meant to read books you either like to order your books from
Amazon or Barnes and Noble...either one can fail period))
I just got the color, which is pretty much 100% touch screen (except for on/off button and volume buttons). You just slide your finger across the screen, just like you would an ipod/phone. You can "finger pinch" to make the screen size change (like you would an Ipad), etc. The screens are pretty much set up like an ipod as well. Go play with the color in a store, you may be surprised! (the 3G is discontinued)
I am so far pretty impressed with the color. I was pushing DH for the tablet from Verizon (samsung I think?), but for what I would use it for, so far the Nook color is fitting the bill. I can use Pandora, add my own music, pictures, video, download apps (comes preloaded with a few), access the internet (while not perfect, it is MUCH better than the 3G Nook!).
The only downside I have experienced is that the battery runs out much faster than the 3G. I have to charge it every night, but that has been with heavy wi-fi use. I've been playing with all the features so I've been burning through the charge. I'm sure when I settle down and use it mostly for reading, then it won't be so bad.
TO the pp, yep, sorry, I was using
Best Buy's customer service, which I had said I was, but I guess I should have clarified further. I just was commenting that I also had no issues getting my Nook replaced at a "non-BN" vendor.
