Non Walking Toddlers - Shoes Required in Parks ?

We were there last week. We only had once incident with a baby not having shoes on. We were traveling with another family that had a 13 month old who isn't walking. When she put him on the ground to get his picture taken at AK with Pluto, the Photopass person taking the picture told her that he wasn't allowed to take the picture b/c he wasn't allowed to be on the ground with other shoes on. We had taken several other pictures where he is sitting on the ground and no one else ever said anything. He never wore shoes, so most likely it won't be an issue for you.

I to am a huge fan of robeez!!

Well I am not going to go thru the trouble of getting a doctors note. The pediatric foot specialist we took my son to is almost 2 hours away from our home...Definately not worth it, IMO.

I was in a K Mart today and they had a Robeez knock off which I could get on my sons feet so I picked them up for 'park' wearing. I did look into the preschoolians that were recomended. I definately liked what I saw. If I had more time, I would have tried to get those for our trip. I did send them an e-mail asking for recomendations for my son. He will need some shoes for the winter. Thanks to those that had posted about the preschoolians. I had never heard of them....

Oops, I meant "knock-offs" not "rip-offs." I didn't think it sounded right! :goodvibes If they had them when DD was smaller, I would've gotten the "knock-offs."

It's better to be safe than sorry and just have something in case. I know we were at a park and they would not let a toddler on a ride because she didn't have shoes on. I'm not sure if this was Disney or Universal though.

Have fun on your trip.

I think that Robeez (or Robeez knockoffs) would be acceptable as shoes.

I remember reading that very old post about toddlers and shoes last year when my 14 month old DD wasn't yet walking when we went to WDW and worrying. I really think that as long as you have something covering his feet you will be fine. You would probably be fine with nothing on his feer with 90% of the CM's, but it's the other 10% that might make your life difficult. I'm sure that they are just doing what they are told though.

Good luck!

They better be, because my DD wore then all around WDW in May (and she was walking at this time.) She had these Minnie mouse ones from TDS and loved them. (They looked super cute in pictures.) They cost half of Robeze too. :thumbsup2

When we were there in Jan 2007 she wasn't walking (17 months old) she didn't wear shoes all the time and it was fine. Never had a problem.

The only thing that did come up was when in AKL dino dig the CM told my kids (5 year old and the baby) that they had to have shoes on at all times. She said this was due to the fact that a child was injured while playing with shoes off at one of the Disney parks (it wasn't even a WDW one) and the lawyers made a new rule. Shoes on at all times.

Still I don't think if the child's feet aren't actually touching the ground it shouldn't mater.

I haven't read any of the other posts after the one I quoted, so if this has already been cover I apologize.
