Can anyone advise me on what I.D we might need on the cruise, please? I understand Disney take our passports off us before we board. What do we then use to visit ports or use as proof to cash Travellers cheques etc on shore? Our driving licences are the older type ( Like Us!) and don't have our photos on and the newer ones that do will be over $30 each for my DH and I. Should we go ahead now and get them organised just in case? Also what about our 3 children? Will birth certificates do? They obviously have no photo I.D at all.

Hope this makes some sort on sense!

We had photo driviong licences so it wasn't so much of an issue but DCL will give you a copy of the photo page of the passport if you don't have any other photo id.

As for traveller's cheques, I cashed mine at Guest Services on the ship which was easier than trying to find somewhere ashore.

Finally, children don't need photo id. Just their Key to the World Card for getting on and off the ship.

Just make copies of your Passport photo pages with all the info. You should be ok. As indicated above you may just want to cash some of the checks at Guest Services to be certain.
