Non Traditional trip?

Going in September to attend a Disney Institute Course for 4 days. Going down early by another 4 days to have some fun first. My 23yo DD is going to meet me there for some fun. We've been to the parks so many times, and we love it, but I am thinking of a couple other things to do besides being in the parks. We will def do a day at food and wine in Epcot, and I can't come without going to the MK. What are your favorite things to do if you don't go to the park? Give me ideas!!!! Go!!!!!

Ride bikes (we like the Wilderness Lodge to the campground route, but I think that's currently closed due to construction). Segway ride at the Campgrounds. Mouseboats or kayaks at one of the lakes. We are going soon and have no plans to go to the parks.

• We love touring the monorail resorts, stopping at each to explore and maybe have lunch, and taking the boat from Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge.
• We also enjoy the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra. It's nice to sit in the lobby and listen to them. They usually perform several times throughout the afternoon/evening.
• At Animal Kingdom Lodge you can tour Boma/Jiko and sample some food. That tour was 4:30 p.m. when we took it and then we got to welcome the family of the day to dine.
• There is also the Wonders of the Lodge tour at Wilderness Lodge. That has never worked with our schedule (9 a.m. Weds-Sat.) but we hope to take it one day.
