Non Ticket holder at MNSSHP

Can I get a ticket refund from WDW if you don't have to pay for MNSSHP?

Why should some have to pay and others not? My tickets are for Halloween night...be so crowed you won't be able to move!

If this is the case I most DEFINITELY want a refund for the rix I just ordered last night!

I called last week to make reservations for dinner when we are at the MVMCP. My family has tickets. I asked if we would have to leave the park and then re-enter and the flip answer I got is "We don't have park police. Who would make you leave?." I explained that I thought they cleared the park and had every one who had tickets re-enter at 7:00. I was told that they do not clear the park, but non-ticket holders do leave, beacause they can't go on any of the attractions. I also got alittle ticked because I thought it was unfair.

I posted this on the other thread as well...guests waiting to watch the parade/fireworks that can't go on the rides will spend the entire time happily spending mucho dinero in the stores and restaurants. Disney will justify their decision, if it is indeed true, by saying only those with MNSSHP tickets (wristbands) will be able to go on the rides and buy event merchandise (ie: pins!) so they are getting special benefits vs. a non-paying guest. I feel their decision is motivated by greed and will turn so many people off from buying tickets that they will actually end up losing money.

Sadly, you're probably right about this. If this is truly the case, they are going to have a lot of complaints about this. I mean, what's the point of buying the ticket? For rides? I'm sure that some come to ride, but most come for the special seasonal entertainment that isn't offered for the rest of the year. Gotta say I'm pretty unimpressed by all of this. :furious:

I'm joining the crew crossing their fingers that this is just some sort of miscommunication, because we'll be looking for a refund for our MVMCP tickets if it's not.

They may talk a big talk with withholding rides and characters for only people with wristbands, but anyone who has experienced EMH knows what a joke that is. I can count on one hand the number of times I was asked to show my wristband during our trip a few weeks ago, and I do recall far more incidents where people around us did NOT have wristbands. CMs let them on the rides or to meet the characters anyway, and simply "encouraged" them to get the wristbands so that they could enjoy all of the attractions. :sad2:

IF THIS WERE THE CASE THEY WOULD HAVE TO STOP AND CONSIDER THAT NO ONE IS GOING TO PAY $40 EXTRA JUST TO RIDE RIDES AND BUY A PIN ,THAT WOULD BE INSANE

For christmas party last year on the 20th my mom and I didnt have our bands checked once not even for the picture,,,,,,,,, UGH did I say UGH there I said it again UGH

Seriously, if they don't intend to make a real effort to clear the parks I'll be asking for a refund. Depending on the response to that, Universal can count on getting my vacation money next month and from there on out. You don't sell people a ticket to an event by telling them that you're limiting the number of people present by only allowing ticket holders at the event--and then just decide to let everyone stay anyway.

I agree with this. With all of the ridiculous changes that have happened at WDW over the last couple of years, it is becoming a less and less desirable destination for us. December may be our last trip for a while.

I suspect this has arisen out of evening EMHs. The powers that be have decided that they do a "good enough" job keeping non-Resort guests out of EMH without clearing the parks that they can do this for Parties too.

The problem is that for EMH, there's almost nothing open that isn't staffed by an individual CM (the attraction entrance CM or character handler), so they *can* generally check most of the time. For a Party, there's enough stuff (parade, fireworks, forecourt show, ...) that will be impossible to police.

If MNSSHP is a disaster, I can imagine park hours revised again for MVMCP to reinstate the changeover hour. But, from what I hear, the MK Ops folks are convinced that they don't need to manually clear the park, and their EMH experience has convinced them of it.

And, really, I don't think it will be a disaster. There will be a few hangers-on, just like there are a few suspiciously old 2 year olds, very suspiciously old 9 year olds, and people who disregard the note in the dining brouchure about not using child credits for adults.

But, the majority of Guests seem to abide by Disney's written policies, even though there is no enforcement mechanism. And, really, when Disney can cajole people into following the rules rather than force them to, that's what they prefer, because no CM wants to see an unhappy Guest, even if that Guest is clearly in the wrong.

Many people take advantage of this inclination---spend 20 minutes in guest services of any park, and you'll see a fairly constant parade of people trying (often successfully) to wheedle park-wide FP re-entry passes for every little real and perceived slight. But, it makes the day more pleasant for the vast majority of guests who are reasonable, and Disney has decided that that's the preferable route.

I don't know that they have made a mistake in the park hours. They've got the park closing at 6 for Night of Joy.

It looks like they are going to try to clear the park of the unwristbanded masses while the party is going on, so they can give them the extra hour in the park to buy food and souvenirs.

I agree with Fantasmic303. We just got back from WDW about a week ago and we attended the evening EMH's quite a few times. It was very rare that we were asked to show our wristands to get on a ride. In the line for Peter Pan, just looking around me I saw 2 families without wristbands. If Disney was going to allow people to stay in the parks on the grounds that they will not be allowed on attractions I see this being enforced about as well as evening EMH's.

So, if this rumor is true (I sincerely hope it isn't) I picture the Magic Kingdom will be swamped with non-ticketed guests who are able to watch the parade and fireworks and sneak onto rides. I also picture A LOT of unhappy ticketed guests (myself included!) who will be complaining. I think the sheer number of complaints would be enough to make Disney reverse this policy back to how it used to be really quickly. We can only hope...

Well, I guess that clears that up for my decision, I will skip October as I wanted to do the Halloween party with a quick long weekend trip. However, if there is a chance that hordes of non-ticket purchasing people are going to be taking up space then I really won't bother with the extra trip. For us it is four airfares, four nights of hotel accomadations and 4 tickets to the party--not worth the expense if the park is going to be overcrowded. We don't do rides at these events we go for the shows and the unusual characters so we would be competing with those who decide to take advantage of a loop hole. We are fortunate enough to spend enough other time at WDW for the rides.

I don't know if Disney is going to clear the parks or not, but I know that I've read a lot of threads here from moochers bragging that they hang around for MNSSHP and MVMCP without buying a ticket.

The moochers seem to think its no big deal to hang around as long as they don't go on any rides. But in my opinion, Disney is not just selling a ticket for the rides, but also the experience of a Halloween Party. And having a ton of extra people who don't belong impacts the experience of the paying customers.

I'm really concerned about this.. I think it'll turn out to be much worse than EMH because with that it's not as though there's much for non-resort guests to do (if the CMs are bothering to check wristbands at rides)--but at MNSSHP there'll be plenty, so I think we're likely to see a LOOOOT of people hanging out waiting to get a peak at the special parade and fireworks, etc.

I would also like the answer for this. It seems strange that they would let anyone who wants to stay, stay and do everything that I paid big bucks to do. We are not going to do many rides we were just going to walk around see the sights, trick or treat, see the parade and fireworks. If I have to fight for a place to see the parade and people without wristbands are standing in my way... WDW is going to get an earful!!!

This is my first MNSSHP and already I am stressed out about it, I don't need extra stress!

Aryn

We went to MNSSHP last year, so we are not doing it this year, though going at that time of year, my son just wants to try to find some chara's

I cant believe they would let "regular" folk stay? Advise please . . .

I am anxiously waiting to hear reports of the first party on Sept 15 from TGM and DISers. We are going on Sept 29. If the crowds are horrible from non-paying ticket holders, I pray the execs at WDW will change it back to the old way of closing at 6pm to clear the park. If they don't make any changes, we will then have to make our decision on whether to go or ask for a refund. Fingers crossed and praying for lots of PD that it all works out for EVERYONE.

:confused3 :guilty:  we have tickets for Sept.15 it will proably be our first and last party....we'll have to see what happens? I wonder if they would refund your money?? :rotfl2: yeah, I agree with posters on page 2 if they let non ticketed people in for this it'll proably be our last trip.................
