Anyone else have non stick pans that chip? I only use plastic or wood untensils and it still chips. It's Caphalon too. I think I may switch to cast iron pan. Anyone own one that does not chip or deteriorate?

I have Calphalon Unison and have always used either plastic or wood utensils and they started to get scratches on the bottom and some pits. I took pictures and found their website under the warranty link: http://www.calphalon.com/productsupport/pages/warrantyinformation.aspx and emailed them the pictures. They said that most likely they would be under warranty so I boxed them and sent them in. I received replacements quite fast. BUT my new replacements are scratching and starting to chip already and it's only been less than 1 year :sad2:

I'm going to email them again and see what I can do. I love the fact that the Calph. Unison is made in the USA but I can't keep sending them in and hoping for replacements.

That's why i switched to hard anodized. It's non-stick and I think it cooks better than my stainless steel pans. It doesn't chip or flake.

I have Emerilware and have been cooking with it for about 10 years now and looks as good as the day I bought it.

I'm happy for you but personally I will not cook in or eat off something that was made in china.....

Where did you find that All Clad makes their Emerilware line in China? I can't find any proof of that.

I googled where is emerilware made and it comes up with alot of pages that talkes about the pots. Specifically http://www.cookwarebuzz.com/cookware/brands/emerilware/ First paragraph under first picture says they are made in china. A lot of times they don't stamp on the pans where they are made but it would be on the box it came in.

Hmm, interesting. Oh well, love my cookware and its 10 years and still going strong.

I have pretty much given up on non-stick pans. I have some great stainless steel pans and they are so easy go clean. Most of the time things don't stick, but if they do, I use a Brillo or SOS pad and it takes no effort to clean them at all.

I found some great pots at Homegoods. They're ECOPANS. I'm hoping that they will carry some pans as these are wonderful. Everytime I go in the store that's the first thing I go look for.

I have a set of Paula Dean pots and pans that I love. So easy to use, clean, and they still look brand new, I've had them about a year and use them everyday sometimes multiple times per day. I also have a set of stainless steel pots and pans that I adore. I use my Paula Dean more.

I've had my Calphalon non-stick pans for several years, and they're still going strong. Well, except for the one that DS sprayed Pam in. :sad2: Just a FYI, you should never, ever use Pam on a non-stick pan because it leaves a gooey residue that won't come off.

You're not putting them in the dishwasher, right? Also, don't let them soak in dishwater for more than a few minutes.

Nope it has never gone in the dishwasher. I was wrong in my statement though, they are not "chipping" they are "pitting" and scratching. Could not remember the proper term. ;)

I love my All-Clad made in the USA . I also have several dutch ovens made by Le Cruiset in France. They were a little pricey to begin with...although I bought them one or 2 at a time from TJ Maxx or Marshalls but I love cooking with them and clean up is a breeze.
