Non-Runner TZToT Marathon Transport

We've been @ WDW during marathon events before but never noticed any traffic issues since we weren't in the thick of it always avoiding the race area. Does anybody have any experience as to what we'd expect in the way of traffic getting to a race? This year we're considering buying spectator event tixs for the Twilight Zone ToT race on 9/29 since we have a late afternoon arrival that day.

Our hotel-WL isn't a host resort that offer event bus service. Naturally, the runners have 1st dibs on boarding, but just wondering what time frame to use if wanting to catch an event bus from GF to MGM (race/event start time is listed at 10 pm).

My 1st thought was to drive to BW area, valet our car & enjoy dinner & BW activities, then boat it over since no parking at MGM that night. Worried that we'd be refused to get back on the boat that is stated to be operational to retrieve our car (not sure if they'd be checking resort ids after park hoursas onsite Universal properties) since we're not staying there.

Any thoughts on the 3 options i'm considering?:

1) drive to GF-valet, then event bus to MGM (not sure when best time is to catch?), reverse at end of night

2) drive to BW-valet, enjoy it for the evening then boat over to MGM, reverse end of night

3) drive to WWoS, park & catch shuttle there. I'm thinking it might be the most crowded option due to overflow from non resort and offsite runners/guests.

I would go with parking at BW. That way you can always walk if Disney screws up the transport Has happened before....

I paid for the Wine and Dine after party last year and honestly, it wasn't that great. If I hadn't had friends running I would not have done it.

The Tower of Terror party back when they used to have the race had only a few attractions open and you will be surrounded by folks like me (who are kind of stinky after 10 miles LOL!) Also, they closed the normal food and beverage vendors and had special "party" vendors. $5 for a can of Diet Coke! Now they didn't do that for Wine and Dine so who knows, but it's just a warning!

my people! i feel rather ripe after a long day in the parks and have come close to walking 10 miles in a day when PH'ing
thanks for the hints, even the disney mom panel is in the dark as to the details of the new roll out of after party as to food offerings, etc.

the official site states the following info but no real details as to 'when' to show up @ MGM if not running, if they'll let u in the park before 10:30 pm or how long the transport will operate, etc. I'd like to think it'll be in the packets for the runners or the tix pkgs for non-runners.
