My DW and I are returning to the Fort this May and I have family that lives in central Fl that are interested in coming by for a visit (we haven't seen each other in over 30 years) and I was wondering if anyone has had a non resort guest visitor come to the campsite for a couple of hours? I am wondering what kind of hoops WDW will have them jump through to make such a visit possible. I suspect they will have to pay for parking and then take an internal bus to our loop (whichever loop we are assigned).

I also found our that my step son (SS) and his wife will be staying at the Poly at the same time so we can have a few days and a couple of dinners with them as well. We are flying in and tent camping so it's going to be a fun and memorable 16th wedding anniversary! We are so excited at the prospect of returning to the Fort and WDW, but add in the family reunion factors and we are nearly in overload and still have just over 30 days to wait!

for the offsite group might be easier to meet them in front parking lot and riding bus with them

Last year my off site guest didn't have to pay to park. They were directed by security to the overflow. I had a cart rented so I drove up there and picked them up.

It's pretty simple, Bearikens.

Just tell your friends your site number in advance. So when they drive up to the guard gate at the Fort, they can say that they are hear to see you (by name) and you are in site #so-and-so. The guard will verify and then tell them to drive in and park in the overflow but they can drive to your site if there is room or you can move your car to the overflow beforehand to leave room for them to park at your site (I've done that).

The lot at the Fort usually has people that aren't staying at the Fort or visiting anyone, I see it repeatedly every trip. Your friends should be at least as welcome as the locals who have figured out how to game the system.

Thanks everybody, appreciate the insight and the answers to my question

We had visitors to our site. They gave our name & site# & the driver showed his drivers license to the guard. They parked at our site. No problems. I think the only no no would be to take them swimming at the pool.
