Non Pet Rooms

We are planning a trip to US in June. We have stayed at Hard Rock twice and enjoyed it. Planning on staying there again or possibly Royal Pacific. So here's the problem. The last time we stayed at Hard Rock was 2008. Since then DH has acquired (I guess that would be the word) a slight allergy to dogs. Nothing terrible, but dogs make him itch. As an example, we keep my Mom's dog occasionally. He has no problem with the dog being in the house but if he sits on the couch with shorts on and the dog has been on the couch, his legs itch. After the dog leaves we vacuum the couch and he's fine after that. So basically we are concerned about being in a room that an animal has been in.

So I guess my question is.....are there certain rooms that are "pet rooms" and certain rooms that are "no pets". Has anyone ever asked for non pet room?

We stayed this past summer. Family has severe pet allergy. Hotel states that only certain floors have pets. I believe it was the ground floor. Call hotel. Were very receptive to my request. Pretty sure we were on the 3rd floor.No problems but had the meds just in case. Check the HRH thread I'm pretty sure this topic was covered. Hope this helps

I know the answer to this since we have the exact same problem. DD has a "minor" allergy to dogs - itching, coughing - enough that we avoid "pet-friendly" rooms.

We're checking in to Royal Pacific on Sunday and I wanted to be sure we got a non-pet room. I called Universal, and they were glad to put a note on the reservation stating that we need a non-pet room for allergy reasons. The girl I spoke with said dogs are in on particular tower (2, I believe) and maybe just certain floors (?).

So the answer to your question is yes, there are non-pet rooms that you can request before you check in!
