If we purchase a non-park hopper ticket, can we leave the park and go back to the same park in the same day?

DS will need to rest and take naps this trip.

From what I have read - yes. You can leave and return to the same park within the same day, remember to get your hand-stamped or whatever on your way out.

You can not leave the Magic Kingdom and head over to Epcot on the same day. Which I have heard isn't a good idea with little kids anyway. We will only be buying the base tickets as well for our trip.

Yes you may return to the same park.

Use your ticket in the normal fashion. Hand stamps are no longer utilized.

They don't do hand stamps anymore, so no worries there.

Not sure what reason anyone would give as to why park hopping "isn't a good idea with little kids." We never had a problem doing park hopping when we had little kids. As far as the kids know, leaving one park and going to another is no different than leaving one park and returning to it later.

Glad there's no more hand stamp. We thought that if we could leave and they gave us a stamp... then we went swimming or what not... it would wash off.

Woohoo! This was all great news. Thanks everybody for your replies!

We are opting not to get the park hopper this time because it will help slow us down a little.
We are dvc'ers and always run run run... so this trip we thought we would slow down and enjoy it for a change.
Not that you can't enjoy the trip if you have a hopper, it is just what we are choosing to do. Plus, saving a little money is always nice!!!

yes you can... this is the way we do it! Save money by not getting PH...get to park early. Ride what you can, grab some FPs to use for later. Go back to resort for swiming/naps/lunch- then head back to same park for the evening. Use up the FP you collected during the morning and have a magical (no tired kids throwing tantrums) evening ;)

Of course- if it is a day when the park closes early- you may want to rethink leaving mid day IMO, since this will eat up at least a few hours of park time. But during summer months I feel the mid day break is important- especially if your kids still take naps.
Have a great trip...:hippie:

What is an FP?
