So we are heading to Orlando on Sunday and the plan was to stay at POR and AKL and just spend lots of time at the pools ( dd's idea not mine). My DD7 now has an ear infection that will not go away and is not supposed to swim for a week:scared1:

So what are some good things besides the parks to do? Someone at work suggested I rent a car and go to the ocean, but I am travelling alone with the girls and really do not want the hassle of car seats and driving somewhere new.

I know about mini golf and Downtown Disney.

Thanks

Lisa

There are things you can get to cover their ears.... my neice had to wear one for a while. Would something like that work??

Probably, but I have no idea what they are called or where to find them.

OT Dianna how was your trip out east?

The pharmacy sells those head bands to cover the ears and I believe they work well...with the heat there you will all be needing to swim even just for a quick dip. She could use an earplug plus the band to cover it for extra measure.

 to your DD that her trip won't include as much pooltime as she'd planned.

Some suggestions for things we've tried:

Rent bikes at POR.

Do the kids' activities at AKL. Also, go around the whole place and view animals from all the public viewing sites. Talk to the CMs about the animals (usually can find a CM at Arusha Rock and often at the flamingo pool)

Get on the monorail and get off at each resort and do a little exploring. Get a Hidden Mickeys list and go on a search for them at each location.

Do a character meal at one of the resort restaurants (if she's into characters... my DD just never was interested so we gave up on character dining).

Go to the Poly and view the fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach one night.

Have fun!

Hi Glad you found one!

Trip to NS was god - did a whale watching cruise that was cool - kids got to go on the blue nose and the dog was thrilled to have a whole lake just for him to swim in and drink - and he sure did drink lots when he was swimming!!LOL

Need to get another trip planned though.... feels odd to have nothing in the works right now!

Go to Fort Wilderness Campground and do the petting zoo, trails and campfire movie (free), go down to the beach and watch the Electrical Water Pageant and fireworks from MK. :goodvibes
