Hi everyone! I’m planning a non-park day at Disney with my husband and our 4-year-old son. We’ll be staying at All-Star Movies, and I’d love to get some tips and see if my plan sounds doable.

We’re thinking of spending a relaxing morning at the hotel pool. Then, after lunch, we’ll take a bus to Hollywood Studios and ride the Skyliner to Epcot. From there, we plan to walk over to the BoardWalk for some ice cream and a little exploring.

I’m especially wondering if there are any good playgrounds at the nearby resorts that would be fun for a 4-year-old. Any recommendations?

Later in the afternoon, we’d take the boat from the Epcot area back to Hollywood Studios and head back to our hotel.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Playgrounds: all star movies, art of animation (you can take the skyliner from Epcot or Hollywood studios) plus that hotel has cool theming, also on the skyliner route is CBR which has a playground on a little island

I'd also check out what's happening at all star movies, like they usually do mickey tie dye. You can usually look up the resorts activity calendar ahead of time. Plus movie under the stars where you can watch Disney movies outside at night. All the resorts have them and you don't have to be staying there to see the movie. There might also be scheduled character meets at all stars

There's also an arcade at all star movies

I haven’t been there for a number of years, so am not exactly sure what is still there, but there is also that ranch area at the wilderness campground.

You can take a friendship boat from EPCOT to Boardwalk and from Boardwalk over to Beach Club and Yacht Club and I think both have playgrounds, plus at night the fireworks at EPCOT are very pretty from all of them.

Disney Springs is nice to walk and they have a boat that goes to Port Orleans and the French Quarter, the theming is fun.

Disney Springs has a Dinosaur restaurant that was my sons absolute favorite when he was little, if it is too expensive to eat there just watching from outside is a big deal plus they have a little store so you can get a closer look, their LEGO store sculptures are also fun for kids. At night there are often family friendly free music scattered around with spots to sit. Bring some glow in the dark bracelets from Walmart or Dollar Tree for nighttime fun.
