what are your favorite non-park activities?

My husband and I did this last September for our one year anniversary. We stayed offsite, but spent every day in property. We went to many hotels, ate at as many different restaurants as we could, played mini golf at winter summer land, and generally took in the non park ambiance. My favorite was watching the MK fireworks from the Grand Floridian and then watching the light up boat parade. We also spent a great deal of time at DTD. I thought I would be sad to not go into the parks each day, but it was so relaxing. Have fun!!

I'm looking forward to riding a boat from DTD to some of the nearby resorts to check them out.

When co-workers, etc. ask that dreaded question, "aren't you sick of going to disney?" I'm always telling them they don't understand, you don't even need to go to the parks on your vacation for it to be fabulous because there is just so much to do!

I love the YC/BC and it's fun to watch the movie on the beach and follow it up with watching the fireworks from Epcot. Strolling the boardwalk is fun. Nothing beats XMAS time with traveling around to the resorts to see all the decorations, but it's nice to see them anytime of the year, too, and see what fun extras each one has from seeing the animals at AKL to the geyser at WL. One of my favorite activites is renting the water mice. Although you can rent them at a lot of the resorts, my fav is getting it at WL. You can see the castle in the backround but you aren't near the big boats crossing from TTC to MK. From horseback riding to campfires, who needs to go to the parks! lol

Jellyrolls, Yehaa Bob, and dance show at Raglan Road. Campfire singalong at Ft. Wilderness. Some of the hotels offer short tours.

We LOVE our non-park trips. Pool, DTD, resort-hopping, a dinner show, golf, etc. the possibilities are endless. Enjoy!
