I am attending a conference at the Disney Hilton (Downtown Disney) next week and a friend of mine is coming along (with her son) to watch my daughter while I'm at the conference. We are going to Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios before the conference starts and I'm looking for non-park activities for them to do while I'm at the conference on Wednesday. I don't want to pay for admission to the parks, but I'd be willing to spend a bit for something they could do locally (that doesn't involve renting a car)...even some resort activities that don't require you to be a registered guest. Any ideas?

Mini golf, shopping and lunch (earl of sandwich) at DTD, maybe catch a movie? Or they could spend the day in Disney Quest...

-Check out fort wilderness, rides the ponies. Take a bus to the MK, and ride the boats over.

-Play at the lego store at DD. Play in the fountains there. Just walk around and enjoy the sights.

-Have lunch at any of the resorts. Catch a bus from DD. Check out one of the arcades.

-Pool time.

-A litte more money but maybe a water park????

-look into how much more adding one day to your park ticket will be. might not really be too much more.

How many days are you planning to be in the parks? If you are already paying for 3 day tickets, adding another day will not be that much more. It may actually cost less for them to spend an extra day in the park than it would to do other activities.
