Non-member verifying reservation?

Hi there,

Here's my question - we've rented through another DVC member.
We've done this before and I am quite certain we called 24 hours before our trip to confirm our reservation by phone through the Disney hotline.

I call Disney - they tell me to call DVC. I ask them if at one point this reservation will be transfered in their system and the lady seems lost.

I call DVC services - of course, I knew I wasn't able to get any info whatsoever... I ask her if she knew about this, if I could call like 24 hrs before and confirm everything... she doesn't seem to think so.

So here I am, asking the pros on here - did I dream this up??? :confused3
 
Never heard of a telephone confirmation, but you can always confirm it at:
mydisneyreservation.com/dvc
 
Website: yes. Telephone: no (unless you are an RCI inbound.)

You might have been able to do it by phone many years ago, but that practice has been discontinued for some time.

Because the people on the phone only know what they need to know to do their jobs---at the main number, that's selling hotel rooms and tickets. At the DVC number, it is servicing members. Neither of those "roles" are served by helping someone not renting or buying from Disney.
