Well let me rephrase the question. If my family already have one day left on the 3-day passes, can't we just purchase additional one day tickets with the FL discount then have non-FL residents use the ticket we just bought?

No. Use the link above to read the other thread. Disney actually makes people prove they are a Florida resident to use a Florida resident ticket.

no, what I *think* the OP is saying is that they have 1 day left on their Fl Res 3 day play passes. So they would buy an extra day and give them to a non to use.

Florida Resident tickets are for use by Florida residents. Disney does a good job of policing the use of these tickets. Even if they didn't, though, the policy is that they cannot be used by non-Florida residents. DIS rules do not allow discussing methods of breaking Disney rules or getting around the system.

Once used, Disney tickets are non-transferable. If you have existing tickets with days left, they can only be used by the person who originally used the ticket. They cannot be used by anyone else.

Sorry for the confusion....Yes we have FL 3 day play passes with 1 day left. We have non-FL resident guests visiting. So, my plan is that we (FL residents) will purchase 1 day tickets at FL resident discount using our ID then have the guests use the 1 day tickets.

I know they would check the ID at the box office but I think they rarely if ever check tickets at the turnstiles. So I guess my questions basically boils down to if a FL resident can purchase 1 day ticket if one already has a 3 day play pass (not an annual pass).

The short answer is no. The long answer is, because of people who abuse the system and give Resident passes to non-residents, Disney has cracked down on this abuse and the DO check for photo ID at the turnstiles. Please don't do this and make it even harder for ACTUAL FLORIDA RESIDENTS to get and use resident passes.

You can buy one but the non-resident can't use it. They are a NON-RESIDENT and this is considered abusing the system.

They don't check tickets at the turnstiles because they don't have to. That's what the biometric readers are for.

Yep.

And anytime they have a problem with the reader you may have to show ID, just as your friends may have to show ID to use the ticket (since it's a single use ticket). I wouldn't risk it.

They check for ID's the first time they are used and then let the bioreaders take over, so your friends would have to have a FL resident ID the first time they use the tickets or they will be told the tickets aren't valid.

Spend the extra bucks, they'll make you break out an ID .. we had to flash our fla IDs (whether it be driver, or state-issued) when we purchased them, and went into the parks.
