Non Expiring Tickets Used Instead of Dated Tickets Purchased for Nov Trip

Just called Disney Ticket Services this morning. Had purchased 5 Day dated tickets for this past Nov Trip... so that after the trip the entire family would have the same number of non expiring days left (7) on our non expiring park hoppers. Checked on the last day of the trip and sure enough- my son had seven days left on the non expiring but my daughter only had six days left. The Disney ticketing system burned one of her non expiring days instead of the dated ticket for that week, but worked correctly for my son. I know I had the dated tickets attached to the park reservations correctly because I got caught in that mess where all of your park reservations disappeared when they did an IT update- and I had to remake all of my park reservations, with the new feature where you indicate which ticket it should pull from. Even after a trip to Guest Services while I was still there, and the phone call this morning- Disney is refusing to issue a comp ticket with the missing non expiring day- they will only give me a "Transaction Number" which I have to remember that I have, it doesn't show in MDE, then requires me to call Disney Ticket Services at 7am and wait on hold at some date in the future when I will want to use the non expiring ticket. The CM did advise that their new system will always want to use the " highest dollar value ticket" on the account- regardless of ticket prioritizing. This is absolutely a mechanism put into place by Disney to rob non expiring ticket holders of their purchased and held tickets. How many people are not going to notice?

We had a similar situation a couple years ago when we thought we were using an AP that trip, and found out later Disney had used many days of our non-expiring ticket. The issue was with Guest Services - when they activated our AP, they didn't prioritize it to be used first. The way we understand it now is the tickets can be prioritized - shouldn't really have anything to do with the 'more expensive' tickets going first. Your dated tickets should have been prioritized for use first - especially since you were using them on the assigned days!!

But we also now have a number we need to reference when we want to use those non-expiring days in the future, and we need GS to intervene each time. It's a major aggravation, but it's the only solution Disney will give us. At least they did document the situation and we will recover all the days they incorrectly took from us.

The good news is that my 3 day hopper for April cost more than my 10 day non-expiring hoppers in 2012 🤦‍♂️
You have always be able to prioritize tickets, you just have to do it at GS (Preferable before your first park visit). At least you can see on the app now and correct it when you are there.

I'm sorry to hear the ticketing didn't go as you wished initially but thanks for posting this thread about your challenges. I'll keep this in the back of my mind (hopefully!) for future reference.

When AP sales open up we're going to upgrade our Pixie passes but we always end up buying day tickets at some point becuase relatives with children basically can only visit during peak (i.e. blackouts) periods!

We had 3 day dated tickets for this past Chrismas, only used 2, but since they've disappeared from MDE I'm assuming they pulled from those tickets. I remember the lights at the park entry/finger scan flashed differently than they do when I use my annual pass.

I also discovered the lights flash differently when you scan your finger with your gloves on. It was cold. :)
