Non-expiring ticket question

I have a 10 day non-expiring park hopper (with 10 additional water park admissions) with several days left on it for theme parks and still 8 water park days left on it. I will be in WDW in April but only plan to use two of the days while there. This 10 day ticket is linked to my Magic Band.

I was thinking of purchasing an additional 10 day non-expiring park hopper (without water park add-on) as the "rumor" is WDW will stop selling non-expiring tickets.

My question is if there is a "fuse" for first use of that new ticket since I still have multiple days left on my old ticket? Do I add the new ticket to my Magic Band? Do I keep it as a physical ticket until all the park entitlements are used on the old ticket?

If there is a fuse, is there a way to use an admission from the "new" ticket vs. the "old" ticket?

BTW -- one other dumb question that is somewhat unrelated. I will most likely be getting "signed in" to the parks one day while there in April from a cast member with their silver pass. When that happens, I don't want my magic band being "scanned" and deducting a day of use. But I do want to be able to make Fastpass+ reservations ahead of time. I was thinking of leaving the magic band in the car on that day, but then I wouldn't be able to access my fastpass reservations correct? Any "best practices" for that scenario?

Thanks!

If you purchase a new non-expiring ticket, link it to a "new person" in your MDE account and there is no way it can be used. When you are ready to use it, then reassign it to yourself.

Your ticket entitlement will not be used when you enter with a CM Guest Pass. Just keep your MagicBand away from the tapstile and your ticket entitlements will remain intact. Just use the MagicBand at the FP tapstiles to access your FP data.

I'm not sure I understand the question as I don't know what buying another ticket has anything to do with your current ones. The current ticket is the only one that is activated or linked to MM+. Buy the ticket and just don't use it or link in to anything until you are ready to use it.

Part two is that there is no fuse on a new unused ticket and that is especially true if it is a non-expiration ticket. You could keep it for years and never use it, it still should be good when you finally do use it.

If you do not plan to use the new one do not link it to anything, just don't use it, put away. Even you old ticket is not going to expire, there really is no reason to do anything but use it for the water parks whenever you get around to it. It will not expire and you can link your new one when you get ready to use it, just keep the second one for the water parks. Once you use up the park portion of your new ticket, there is no need to link the remaining ones if you have a hard copy ticket. It's all very confusing, but, there is no real need to worry about it until you need to use the new one and it still shouldn't be a problem, they have to honor it.

I'm sorry if I didn't understand the question, but, from what I did see that is my thought on it.
