I went to DCA with DH yesterday without EE, arrived at 8am (was planning on earlier, but when we went out to get in the car, saw that our Suburban had a major flat, so DH had to take time to jack it up to take the pressure off the tire). Reading this thread, I decided to forego the FP and do single rider. Went directly to CarsLand for single rider, but RSR was closed and Luigi was 105 minutes, so got ToT FP and rode. Got Screamin' FP, Grizzly FP....did all the other rides. Came back to RSR about 10 when it was open. Standby line posted 180 minutes. Single rider posted 60 minutes. Got in single rider line. Ride broke down about 20 people from front for 15 minutes. Got on in 50 minutes, so if it hadn't broken down for the 15 minutes, it would have been a 35 minute single rider line. Went again after the 10:15 WOC show. FP return line extended all the way to Luigi's. Standby was listed at 180 minutes. Single rider at 60. Got in single rider at 10:50 pm (park closes at 11). RSR broke down again about 11:00 for about 15 minutes again. Got on ride at 47 minutes (was timing it) with the 15 minute breakdown. So my experience is that even when they have the single rider line posted at 60 minutes, it's really only about 30-35 minutes. Both times the end of the line was about 15 feet into the single rider entry. If you don't mind not going with your party, I sure think it's the way to go. When the crowds settle down, we'll go together :)

Thanks for the report! Does this confirm that Screamin's FP is still disconnected?

Yes, Screamin' FP disconnected from system.

Whoop!! That's great to know! Hopefully CS will stay that way until we arrive in August!! Also great info on the single rider option. I wasn't considering that, but now think that may be a good way to go!! Again, thanks!! :thumbsup2

We are two adults, so this sounds like a perfect strategy, thank you! :goodvibes

So my experience is that even when they have the single rider line posted at 60 minutes, it's really only about 30-35 minutes.

I wonder if they are posting the longer wait time because they know how often it's breaking down and they are adding or cushioning the posted wait time so the SR does get on within the 60 minute mark, even with a breakdown. Less unhappy guests that way. ?

Thanks for the info. Sounds like maybe they are estimating break down times in to the SR line wait time. :confused3

I'm thinking SR for RSR for us too. Now I just need to figure out when is the best time to try LFT.

For single rider, everybody still stands in line together, right? But then they just may be in different cars or in different rows when riding. Correct me if I'm wrong. Leaving in 2 days!

Yes, you spend the whole time in line together and then just get assigned different rows/cars when you're boarding. Last time my DH and I were in cars that raced each other--that was kind of fun. His car won :sad1:
