non DVC owner renting points, and needs some help!!!

i'm trying to rent some points for a one night stay.
i've never done this before so i have no clue how it all works.
can someone who's rented their points or rented someone else's points give me the walkthrough of what i need to do and know?

Read the sticky threads at the top of the DVC Rent/Trade board. Start with the "Read me first" thread, then read the "Posting Rules -- Required Reading" thread.

But beware as renting points make you want to buy DVC even more or at least it did for me. I haven't even stayed on my rented points yet and I am already anxiously awaiting for my contract to close
