ok the choice is;

1. anna Maria Island - i have heard really good things about this place on thedis and i think the kids would love a day at the beach, but I am am worried that it will be too darn hot. Also how long will it take to drive there?
2. kennedy space centre- we last did this 15 years ago. girls have never been. DH says the girls will be bored. but I think it would be educational and I do feel bad that they are missing a week of school .Also how long will it take to drive there?

What would you do.?:confused3

Hi,

I would go to Anna Maria Island, it is just fab there - very quiet but the beaches and place is just great and perfect for a day away from the attractions.
Probably around 2 hours or so from Orlando.

Hi Andrea
We have done both and I must say we prefer Anna Maria, I still remember walking into the sea there on our first visit, little fish swimming around our ankles and bath warm water. :goodvibes

We really enjoyed KSC and we are going back this year. They have just opened a new exhibit on the Apollo missions. They also have the shuttle launch experience which is great :thumbsup2

Takes about 90 mins to drive.

Its a nice change of pace as they do not get the crowds of the main parks. They also have 2 imax movies as well.

ETA: here is a link toDisunplgged blog on KSC they went for the 40th Anniversary of the moon flights but might give you a bit more of a feel for it now.
