Thinking of doing an Epcot DP during our wedding trip, either the day before everyone flys home or the day before our wedding.

As we're not having a DFTW anymore we'd need to book through Disney Catered events, now after doing some reading it seems you need to be staying at a Disney owned resort to do this, is this still the case? If so, do you need to be staying the night of the DP? We're thinking of having it Thursday 3rd May and wouldn't be stayin at Disney that night but will have been staying 23-25th April, 30th-3rd May (so checking out the day I'd like it) and again 4th-6th May.

Which location/s would you recommend for 14-20 people? And do you think I've left it too late to have a good chance of there being a 'good' location available? Are the food & beverage minimums and rental fees the same as DFTW charge?

With your stay dates, I don't think they're going to hassle you about the fact that you'll be checked out for one night in the middle of a bunch of nights at Disney resorts.

UK Lochside, Italy West Plaza, Morocco Oasis

For non-DFTWs they don't even let you book til 3 months out, so you're ahead of schedule.

Yes.

:thumbsup2

Thanks Carrie, knew you'd be able to answer.

What are the fees for Morocco oasis? (I'm on my iPad so haven't got your book at hand to check) I see some people mention they hired it all and some only mention east or west, what's the difference?

Of those locations you mentioned which would you say has the best unobstructed view? Thanks too;)

There's only Morocco Oasis (on the France side of the shop by the water) or Kazbah Point (on the Japan side). Maybe Morocco Oasis can be divided into east and west (though I've never seen it) or maybe Kazbah Point used to be called Morocco East... or maybe West... :teeth: At any rate, right now Disney only shows the oasis and the point.

The fee for Morocco Oasis is $285 + tax, and the food and beverage minimum is $460. :thumbsup2

UK and Italy both have unobstructed views, but it seems like you have a greater chance of having the wind blow smoke in the direction of the UK than of Italy, if that helps (though I have seen it at both places... just more often at the UK... IF it's blowing at all...).

Just waiting for a call now from someone at catered events, hope something is available for us and that we like it :-)

Surprised to hear she found me 'in the system' with the requests for my wedding, funny how the wedding team 'lost' all that info and after an email to my consultant at the time with some questions I never did hear back from them.

So our contact at catered events recommended Kazbah point rather than Morocco Oasis due to the large wall in Oasis and can't see over it if sitting down but Kazbah point doesn't and you can add tables, I thought this was standing only?

You can only add tallboys—tables you stand at—to Kazbah Point; no chairs are permitted. However, I've been to a couple of DPs in Morocco Oasis, and seeing over the wall while seated has never been an issue because everyone gets up and runs to stand at the wall as soon as the show starts. Plus, the fireworks are, you know, in the SKY! :rotfl: So those who remain seated are bound to see that part of the show, even if they can't see the globe.

Well when I read the email, the first thing I thought was fireworks go up in the sky not on the floor over the other side of the wall :lmao: I think cause it's for a group of 14-20 they want to make us pick of the smaller locations.
$85 to add a couple of tall boys, typical Disney pricing
