non DDP company..?

If we decide to try the DDP on our next trip how will it work with people we are meeting at Disney that aren't on the DDP? My parents are going to come for the second part of our trip but we'll want to eat with them when they are here. We will have a TS meal each day,,,can I add them to our reservations even though they wont be on the DDP? It will be a separate check...

Also since they will be coming later in our trip but staying with us do they have to have the DDP just b/c we are?

Are they staying in your room with you? then yes, they too would have to have the DDP. If they aren't in your room then they don't need it and can pay OOP and yes, you can add them to your ADR's.

Best option if they are staying in your room is to make 2 different reservations. One with the DDP for your part of the stay and then the other reservation for when they join you.

Yes they will be staying with us half way through our stay. The reservation is in our name, We are paying their way...but they dont want the DDP. If it's something we cant work around we will just pay out of pocket for our meals. We have never used the DDP so I was really just wanting to try it out.

If they stay in your room and you have a package, then they HAVE to be on the dining plan with you, unless you add them to the room after you arrive at the resort. Add them before you arrive, and they have to be on your package. They will not allow you to add them if doing so will exceed room capacity though.

Not sure what kind of booking you have, but if you're planning to fit 9 people on a single room reservation, it's possible you have a DVC reservation or rental. This is not a package, but you would still have to have them on the dining plan if you add them before you arrive. Add them after you arrive and they will have access to the room but no dining plan.

We will not have a package...We will be staying through DVC..We stay in a 2 bedroom villa at AKV, which holds 9 (my parents will make 9). So if I add them after DH and I get their they won't have to have the DDP? They will be coming 4 days after we arrive. Can they still be part of our reservation for the table service meals? Would they just have a separate check?

Dining reservations and resort reservations are completely different. You can add them to your dining reservations when you make them and yes, they can get a separate check
