My boyfriend and I are planning one day in WDW without entering a park. We'd like it to be fun and relaxing and are looking for a unique breakfast location to start our day off right! Any suggestions? :coffee:

My suggestion would be Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Resort. Tonga Toast, Kona coffee. . .yum. They have other unique offerings. Its tasty and the atmosphere is very Polynesian.

Olivia's Cafe @ Old Key West, they have Pork Chop and Eggs Breakfast or a Breakfast Cuban Sandwich

Kouzzina @ The Boardwalk has the bestest Bloody Mary :thumbsup2

Other than Kona, I would recommend the Grand Floridian Cafe. Here is their menu. I really like the Lobster Eggs Benedict.

We are going to GF Cafe on our first morning there! It is sort of a tradition of my DBF's as he loves it so much! I've come to love it too!!

We have a dinner ADR at Kona, but we may have to consider a breakfast too! I have been wanting to try that Tonga Toast I keep hearing so much about...:confused3

Old Key West...hmmm never even thought of that!

Thanks for the suggestions! We also considered The Wave in the Contemporary...has anyone gone there for breakfast? :scratchin

The Wave of American Flavors located in the Contemporary. I can't stand eggs, but their omelettes are like bits of fluffy Heaven.

Hi -
We enjoyed the Wave last month for breakfast as well as lunch on another day - it's our new favorite - and we don't normally do breakfast at all.

The signature item is the sweet potato pancakes~~ to die for!!~ I have never tasted a pancake like it in my life. There's a regular menu, but there's also a buffet that is hidden around the back wall out of site, where everything on the menu PLUS is served at $19.99 pp.

If you go, ask for Renee - she is a class act server!

Enjoy, whichever you decide!

Ohana is fun(Poly). Not a buffet, but you still get a character experience. Good food too.

We love The Wave. I developed insane food allergies last year & was really limited on what I could eat. But, I am a major foodie, so I still want some fun stuff, you know? Chef Frank there was amazing! One of the Best Breakfasts I've ever had, either before or after illness. And DH said his regular breakfast on the buffet was delicious. It has been a fave for the lounge & dinner since it opened. Nice to know breakfast is so good.

Kouzzina is another favorite for breakfast. They have some unique offerings. I haven't been there since allergies & I miss it. (My faves are out now sadly - like the breakfast flatbread - YUM!)

Of the 2, it would depend on where you are headed after.....

Their buffet is huge and the food is really great! Plan to go back there in November, but also try the GFC for something new!

Wolfgang Puck Express!! :cloud9:

They have AMAZING breakfast & great prices. Not to mention lots of shopping and fun nearby. Also a lot easier to get to than most resorts.

I don't have my pics but I found a poster on DIS who ordered similar to us, minus HUGE belgian waffles with fresh whipped cream, bananas, strawberries & blueberries. The "french toast" is made with three bagel halves, coated with corn flakes. So good! :goodvibes

MissMet - your pix are Yummy! I forgot about WPE.... I had the breakfast pocket there (before allergies ugh!) and it was delicious and humungous. It could be split no problem.

I would highly recommend Olivia's at OKW. I have not eaten there yet, but I have studied the menu and the reviews and it looks good. What I do know is the atmosphere and that is stellar. We are returning to OKW in just a few days and I cannot wait.

I can vouch for Olivia's @ OKW. It makes a wonderful breakfast & it is very pretty. Be careful tho, breakfast at Olivias can often lead to a sudden desire to tour DVC properties & get quotes......
