NOJ and FP+ question

I've made my FP+ selections and they're in the timeline of when we'd get to go into MK for NOJ. But our NOJ tickets haven't been linked to our MDE, which is where our regular tickets and FP+ is together. Do I have to link those tickets to be able to use the FP+ for NOJ or will it not matter? I'm so confused. I've tried reading everyone else's FP+ questions since there's sooooo many, but none seem to be about NOJ/FP+.

I could use a park day ticket if I HAVE to, but if I don't HAVE to, that would give us one last day at the end of our trip to go to a park of our choice for a last half day.
