Noisy Rooms?

So what's all this concern over noisy rooms? I just don't understand it....
I dont get why everyone is so overly concerned about it. You are booking a vacation where 2700 people are going to be with you, sailing along in a beautiful, but finite space. There will be people around you, people next door, people in the restaurants....people everywhere! That's part of the cruise experience! Don't worry about it! You're going to have a WONDERFUL time...regardless of a noise near your room. The ship shuts down practically at midnight anyway...it's not like your on a Carnival ship with revelling until 6 am.

If you are that concerned about noisy rooms, there are log cabins in the Ozarks which are very secluded and would provide very quite rooms.

Don't worry, be happy! Disney Cruise Line is AWESOME. You won't regret it a bit!

I want to play hard, but then I want to be able to sleep too! If rehearsals that go on until 2 AM in the Walt Disney Theater are very noisy and keep my 5 year old awake....it won't be much of a vacation! Kids that don't get their sleep get sick, at least this one does. I am already planning for me or my parents to have him in the room, bathed, and in bed by 9. If bass from music or other noises keep him up, I won't be happy. I love DCL, it is the best vacation that I have ever taken, and I have never had a noisy room, but I can sympathize with the concerns of people. I wish I could just bring ear plugs, but with a small child in the room that is not the responsible thing to do...

I am concerned for the same reason. I have twin boys that will be turning 6 on our cruise. If they don't get any sleep at night, I will have no fun during the day as I will have been up with them all night. If it were just my husband and I....we could deal with it, but when you have little kids, they need their rest or the parents pay dearly!

sorry starmouse....good vacation=good sleep....we had a stateroom below one of the clubs once (we've since grown wiser through experience), and it was boom boom boom until 2am....

Well dont get 2080 cat 9 room ....
was some sort of something either above us or below us
or outside the ship sounded like there was a dryer or something running most of night was hard to fall asleep............

Hmm...I have much to learn...

and when I have children, all will be made clear! :)

I have had a noisier room on my first cruise on the Wonder (a cat 11 on deck 5 with strange door-slamming noises coming from next door) but I found I was so beat after a day on the cruise I slept right through them.

I hadn't thought about little ones not being able to sleep though...good points all.

:smooth:

I am not concerned at all about noisy dining rooms, kids running in the halls, people on the decks - that's fine. My biggest concern now that I've booked 6608 right above the Buena Vista Theater (is this where they show movies?) is the bass of the movie soundtrack past midnight. My kids will sleep through anything and everything and if they don't for the 3 nights we are on this cruise - we'll recover once we get back home! I guess being a cruise newbie I just don't have a feel for how much time we will actually be spending in our stateroom and how early we'll be ready to turn in OR how much noise we'll actually hear in our stateroom if we are in there when movies are running.

Did anyone staying near the laundry facilities experience a lot of noise? It certainly seemed noisy, and I was glad our stateroom wasn't close to it! I bought some earplugs, but never needed them--we were on deck 5.
