Noise levels in some restaurants

surely there are certain things you can do to be much more likely to get a quiet dining experience...

- don't expect a quiet lunch in park restaurants, if you want a quiet lunch go to a resort
- eat dinner late, therefore avoiding most of the young children
- avoid buffets

I just got back from my trip. We had dinners at Le Cellier, Brown Derby, Artist Point, CRT, and CA Grill. They were all loud. Our seating times were from 7:00 to 8:30. Not counting CRT (which I expected to be loud), Le Cellier and Brown Derby (both 7:00 seatings) were the loudest. AP (8:30) started off really loud but had started to empty by 9:00. CA Grill (7:30 ADR, seated by 7:45) was a mad house when we got there (families decked out in their theme park finest sprawled all over the lounge area eating from the bar menu and making a complete mess) but it also began to calm down around 8:30, was fairly quiet when Wishes started at 9, and dead after the post-fireworks exodus.

I'm afraid loud and WDW restaurants--for the most part--go hand in hand. With conventions, larger groups of families, and all the kids--it really is no suprise. I guess we've gotten used to it over the last 30+ years :confused3
Of course ,some restaurants are "less loud" than others --Palio and Citricos come immediately to mind.
