Noise level at Ohana?

I've read a lot of reviews on Ohana and the food sounds great. I keep reading that its really noisy though. DBF is a little hard of hearing and I want to make sure we will be able to hear each other ok. What do you think?

It's pretty loud in there but you could always request a quieter location when you check in.

MiAimee, TxAimee has a good idea. Just ask to be seated away from the fire pit (where most of the activity and entertainment is) and you'll be fine.

Actually so many of the WDW restaurants are noisy. I agree sit away from the fire pit and you'll have a better chance of conversing! And for what its worth, the noisest place I ever ate at WDW was California Grill. But we were very near the kitchen.

To clarify, most of the seating is in a large open area with a view of the fire pit. But there is a smaller section around back (behind the bar) that is away from all the action. It is quieter back there and as long as you have a small party without children it's fine. If you have children they will want to go back to the main section a couple times during dinner to take part in the games and that tends to interrupt everyone's meal.

I don't expect any of the restaurants where I dine at WDW to be quiet. I also wouldnt call my fave local restaurant quiet (TGI Fridays)I plan on noise on my vaca, and lots of it. I will bring a bottle of Aleve with me, and take 2 every morning, as a precaution. I KNOW that I would end up with a headache during the day. I can take 2 more in the eve, if I think I need

We ate there on Jan 2, 2007. Its only noisy when they have the kids get up for the limbo, dancing and coconut rolling contest. Otherwise the noise level is ok.

Once in awhile they yell Aloooooooooha! Then everyone yells back Aloooooha!

It is our favorite place!

After our dinner we go out back to the beach and watch Wishes from MK.
The kids play in the sand. We grab a lounge chair and relax.

Our Ressies were at 8:00 but Wishes was at 10:00. So we went out back. Somtimes we watch Wishes right from our table.

Its always one of the highlights of our trip!

OHHH Yeaaaaa, if you get a chance check out the art store. Its on the 1st floor towards the back. Youll pass it if you decide to go down to the beach for Wishes. We wanted 2 paintings of the beach. Beautiful!
