Hi we have never stayed in a DVC property but resently just rented 4 nights in a prefered BWV. We have since read that the rooms over the Boardwalk were very noisey.. Is this true????
We will have a than 10 month old with us and was hoping for quite time after 11PM. Were staying M-Thur...Thanks

I've never stayed at BWV...but may I ask what time of year we are talking about? I spent a lot of time on the Boardwalk last October...and it was practically deserted at night. A few folks outside of the restaurants, etc...but not much else. I can't imagine being able to hear much in the rooms assuming the doors are closed.

Not sure if this helps...hope so! :)

You will be pleasantly surprised with how little noise there really is. Now if you plan to go on New Year's eve............

The other question is do you have a guaranteed Boardwalk view or is it a preferred view? Preferred views are generally on the back side of the resort and face the canal, Luna Park or the quiet pool. Boardwalk view rooms are a different class of reservation.

We've stayed in a preferred Boardwalk view and didn't notice noise at all. We were on the 4th floor almost next to Jellyrolls. The thing is with a preferred view you could be on the canal side facing the Swan & Dolfin, which would have no Boardwald view or noise.

We stayed ina preferred view the first week of May a couple of years ago. There was some noise on Saturday night when the boardwalk was busier than usual, but not so noisy that we couldn't sleep. We sat on the balcony and enjoyed the sounds until bedtime. The noise didn't keep us awake.

Think this question has come up several times before. Some report no noise-- others, loud Boardwalk drunks carrying on into the wee hours.

I think it probably depends on exactly where your room is. If you are down by Jellyrolls, then it might get noisey when the 'patrons' are leaving in a very happy state of mind!! We had a plain ole preferred view room on the village green and never noticed any noise. We did talk to a lady who was staying on the third floor, overlooking the boardwalk, towards the clothing shop and she said she wasn't having a problem with noise. She just shut her door if it got noisey. Like others have said...there is a boardwalk view and a preferred view. If you want the boardwalk view you have to ask specifically for it.

I suspect that the room is not overlooking the boardwalk. DVC is not calling boardwalk view rooms 'preferred' anymore, at least not when we call (and we have called ALOT lately in trying to change some plans). They are pretty definite in calling boardwalk views 'boardwalk' and then the pool or water views 'preferred'.

I would double check this with DVC to be sure. If that's the case, for quiet, you might request a room overlooking the quiet pool in case you get placed above the main attraction pool which can be fairly noisy.

Good luck!

We've stayed at the BWV on the fourth floor right above the Big River grill in late Sept. We really only noticed the noise on Friday and Saturday night. The rest of the week it was pretty quiet. The view was incredible- well worth a little bit of noise. On our second stay at the BWV we missed out on a preferred view and instead had a lovely view of the parking lot. We were really disappointed. The BWV is a great resort, you'll love it.:wave2:

I've been on the 5th floor near Jellyrolls and the 2nd floor over the store. Neither have been noisy. It was much noisier when I had a room overlooking the main pool.
