Well, I've been in a Cat. 3 under Topsider's and yes, we did hear them bringing chairs out every morning (EARLY) and the scraping overhead.
I think the quietest Cat. 4s would be under the spa, but that's all the way forward. If scraping chairs overhead doesn't bother you then under Topsider's is fine.
We were in Cat. 4 cabin 8552 which is about midship and we did not hear anything over head. It also had no other cabin across from it, so it was very quiet.
We were in 8556 and it was very noisy. I think we were under the ping-pong tables. It sounded like people were playing ping-pong in high heels! We heard chairs moving quite a bit, too. It seemed to quiet down at night, though, and it never kept us up.
Hmmmm.... We were in cat 4, but I can't remember the cabin number -- it was just below Topsiders VERY close to the back elevators.
We didn't hear any noise. I wonder if the side of the ship makes the difference. When you got out of those elevators you would take a right then left down the hall about 4 cabins and there we were. I'll have to look up our number soon.
