Noise Cancelling headphones?

My husband has Bose and absolutely LOVES them! He even wears them while mowing the lawn with our riding mower.:rotfl:

For Travel?

I fly 50k to 85k per year, and have had Bose and Sony NC headsets. The fact that the bose don't fold up to stow bothers me about them. I went back to my old fold-able sony's unless I am going on a flight over 4 hours.

The bose are the best, but aren't worth the price. Check out the Sony's for 90% of the NC ability of the bose for less cash. Look at Panasonic for even less money and still a good option.

They don't block out everything, just the low frequency repetitive noise. I can actually hear the people in the next row talking better with the NC on than off. If you want real silence you should look at the in-the ear noise blocking headphones like the etymonics.

I bought DW 90% NC Sony headphones and she loves them. Only about $50 at Target.

I have some Sony NC headphones and they work great on planes. My dh travels a lot for work and he uses the Beats headphones on the plane and likes them.

I have a couple cheap pairs made be Phillips. Use them for travel. They work great for the kids and myself in the car or the plane. Would Bose sound better? I'm sure, but these work well for around $25.

We use JVC's for flying. They fold and work pretty good for noise reduction.

Do they drown out the noise of snoring?

Now I love kids but do they drown out the sound of screaming children? We had a five hour flight last week and I felt so sorry for a mother trying to keep her baby quiet. Poor thing, she walked the aisle in First and everyone completely understood. She had bought two First seats too hoping the baby would sleep. It was an international flight going on to Europe. to her.
DH will be flying 6000 miles a week for the next 6 months and wanted some good earphones to just cancel noise,
I think he's going with the Sony MDRNC200D for $139 rather than the Bose.
