You know, I thought Melanie was annoying but she doesn't have anything on this guy. He frightens me. And now, to find out that he has been hiding in Bear's costume all these years...

Oh my - I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who finds him creepy!! I don't know why - the voice or something. Not fond of my kids watching it. Luckily, it's usually for less than 1/2 hour at night that we have it on! I actually liked it better these past few weeks w/ no host!

I'm going to guess it's not the voice that's creeping you out, it's the facial expressions. He does that because as a voice actor he has to exaggerate his mouth movements to make the words understandable 100% of the time, and after all these years (he's been doing voiceovers for a long time - probably even before Magellan on Eureka's Castle) it's probably impossible to just quit that habit cold turkey.

To be honest, he also doesn't look like he really wants to be doing the Good Night Show... as a writer on the show in the days of Melanie and likely the most seasoned actor remaining on the set, he was probably the best choice they had and they made him do it. The look in his eyes just says "I don't want to be here, I'd rather be behind the camera, thankyouverymuch."

I still wish they'd get rid of Star... now *that* character gets on my nerves... gimme a scalpel, I'll take it's tonsils out.

Holy mackerel!

Not that I want to pollute anybody's brains, but I just watched the Chappelle Show episode on Youtube that included "Knee High Park" in which McNeal (it's actually Noel MacNeal) puppeteered (per his IMDB credits), and I am floored. MacNeal's face and voice may never have been shown or heard but he was puppeteering while these children were being exposed to that language (or at the very least appeared to be, post edit) and ideation.

I'm not judging MacNeal at this point, but what hypocrisy for Comcast/Sprout to replace Melanie with MacNeal (even temporarily) for the reasons they gave!!! What were they thinking???

Come Monday morning, Comcast will be getting an earful and inbox full of my mind (I *wish* I could cancel).

Because 7 years ago she did two 30-second spoof PSAs on abstinence - no swearing, no nudity, no cleavage, but adult humor (and as everybody knows, when you are a child show host or a parent you are not only not allowed to no longer have an adult life, you are not allowed to have ever had an adult life in the first place).

She didn't even look like her Sprout host self, but thanks to Youtube they are still floating around and Sprout decided she was no longer "Good Night Show" host material. So they canned her.
