Alrighty, I have some news......

It seems I am pregnant! Which is wonderful and exciting! BUT - I am due in December. Which leaves no vacation time for an April cruise. With a 3-month old.

Sadly, L and I will probably be changing either to a 7-day sometime in the fall or if we can swing it, to the WB repo.

Sorry I'll miss meeting everyone, but it couldn't have been for a better reason, right? :goodvibes

Congratulations!!!

WOW!!

I live in Polk Country (bwtn Orlando & Tampa) if you ever want to meet up :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 We'd love to meet up. We arrive some where around the 21st of June. Our first "official" office thing is on the 24th. When we get into town I'll PM you. :surfweb:

Just back from our first cruise and LOVED IT! We can't wait for the big one next year!

14 nights of fun....what will we do with all of those sea days?

Ohhhh I'm sure you'll find SOMETHING to do.... :rotfl::rotfl:

I loved the sea days best - and I had about 8 of them on the PC repo last year...

The sea days is what sold me on the cruise. I have visions of lounging in a chair with a good book - and stopping the guy with the drinks for a refill :lmao: Seriously, I so look forward to relaxing. I'm thinking of bring several (used) books and (new) magazines with me and then leaving them in the Cove for other passengers to enjoy. Not sure if you can do that, but that's the plan for now. That way, I don't have to fly home with them.

Kristi

you know M - I just read page one, could you not find a pic of moi??

;) jk!!!

what say ye all the one hour less days?

V... pick your best and I will post it...

I haven't done a call out to have anyone check to see what I started is right... I have to go back and see if I can update... I have the complete list on excel, but it comes out funky when I copy it over here... :confused3

& the one hour less days...we'll let you sleep in... :cloud9::cloud9:

I don't think the one hour less days will really bother me that much - but who knows. I know loosing 5 hours in one swoop is painful. :goodvibes

I just went on aaa to check air prices - can't book yet as I'm still deciding if I want to go to London afterwards.

Well, it looks like I'm going to London as the airfare is SOOOO much cheaper. Mind you, I had to plug in Apr. 17th as aaa wouldn't do the 24th, but is what I found.

Barcelona to Atlanta - cheapest 1600 one way and one person (that's almost what I'm paying for the cruise) :scared1:
London to Atlanta - cheapest was about 900 one way and one person
Barcelona to London - cheapest was 50 one way and one person

Very strange that it would be cheaper for me to fly to London and then Atlanta than to fly Barcelona to Atlanta.

I'm still going to check the differences between one way and roundtrip (and not use the return portion).

Has anyone else booked their flights home?

Kristi

I've been monitoring kayak.com, economytravel.com, airlingus.com and Swiss International Airlines.

I'd prefer to fly out of Philadelphia but right now it is looking like JFK in NY is going to be the most economical for the four of us.

With Air Lingus, I've been seeing around $500/person one way from BCN to JFK.

Has anyone else booked their flights home?

Kristi

Ok, an update. I just checked Air Lingus at 6 months out for pricing (for November) and it is currently BCN to JFK one way $311.87 USD per adult.

That's pretty darned good!

try to book the 2 segments together jfk to mco and bcn to jfk and see if you get a good deal... sometimes it works out better my dd when she went off to school last jan in ams was a lot cheaper going lax-mco-ams-lax than doing them separately..

We have decided to do a round trip from Memphis to Orlando - once to get us there and then fly the direct flight from dublin to Orlando after we spend a week in europe. Yes it means picking up our suitcases and rechecking them in Orlando - we might even spend the night at the hyatt - but it looks like this will be the least hassle and least cost for us. I really do not want to drive home 12 hours after the flight which would still include a hotel stay on the way home. I have one more week before I can make reservations because we are staying an extra week in europe.

Thanks Karl!
We don't want to leave for MCO from JFK, though. :( We will probably be leaving on the first part from either Allentown or Philadelphia. I am constantly monitoring things. I want to make sure I get the best deal and definitely appreciate all the advice I can get!

What is the earliest flight out of BCN that is safe to book? Anyone know?
Plus, since we're arriving on the 23rd and not leaving, could we (in theory) book a flight for the evening of the 23rd, rather than waiting for the 24th. (not that we'd do that).

I mean, how's the debarkation process going to work?

That I do not know. I did ask some questions about how early we can leave for a flight the morning of the 24th on the main cruise board and it seems that since we're in Barcelona from early on the 23rd we can leave the ship much earlier. All of the flights I'm finding for the 24th are in the morning...I hope we can leave that early.

I remember trying to find that information too, and know I was advised I could not make a 9:30ish flight. I will probably fly to London later that day that day and have an over night lay over and then hopefully be on the non-stop British Air flight to Phoenix the next day. :thumbsup2

Thanks Karl!

i was just trying to point out that a multi-city ticket can be cheaper than a bunch of one ways purchased separately. and you don't have to go back to the origin city for this to work. we might leave from lax but fly back to santa barbara directly.
