Hi there - must admit that some of the conversations are confusing to me too (and I've known Jackie since 2004, Ian since 2006, the others since 2007)![]()
I would love to make my overnight (or 2) in London but the cost to fly back into Orlando from there is alot more $$. Where in Fl are you?
Not sure if you want to share the AF story - but I'd be more than interested in knowing about it.
I live in Jax. So I always have to go through Atlanta

AF story - picture it - March 2008 - lovely trip to Ireland and England planned with a group. Tour company put 6 of us on an AF flight that changed planes in Paris. Plane had a problem and we were delayed by two hours or so. So of course we miss our connection. Bad part was that AF told us in Atlanta they would be reworking our connections - yeah right. The only other flight to Shannon was that evening and was full. They finally bumped 4 people and told 2 of us that we were waitlisted. When I asked if we would get a seat, I was told we would - yeah right. We didn't get the seats and had to go to a hotel (on AF) for the night. Taxi met us in Shannon to take us to the hotel (2 hours away). That night, when I unpacked - everything in one corner was soaking wet. Fortunately, the hotel had a washer/dryer combo so I could get them dry.
Flight home - 6:40am London - we arrived at 4:30. Counter didn't open until 5am - with over 200 people in line!!!! We got checked in at 6:10. We made the plane, our luggage did not. 3 Days later they bring my luggage to my house. 2 Days later I unpack - everything on the OTHER side was soaking wet!!!
When I googled AF luggage - I found plenty of complaints. One person posted that he heard from luggage handlers at one airport that AF luggage people will deliberately rerout luggage to protest working conditions. I have no doubt that the AF luggage handlers poured water on my luggage.
No compensation from AF for any of the trouble either. The stewards were rude too.
That's one reason I am doing to EBTA so that I don't have to worry about getting my clothes TO the ship.
