Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

Do it LL! Do it!!

Hi everybody. Thanks for the hugs and wellwishesI have the day off today- THANK GOODNESS!!

I had an REDICULOUS confrontation with a co-worker yesterday whom with I've NEVER had a problem- although numerous others in the office have. I feel betrayed because I have never been anything but a friendly face to her and she LASHED OUT at me in such a manner that I finally believe all the horror stories I've heard about how terrible and filled with inner rage she is. It was juvenile, JR-HIGH level drama. To my EMBARRASMENT I had to send an email to my supervisor and the supervisor that is covering her because she is on vacation just to cover my own ***. This woman is vindictive, lies, and completely insane. I always felt pity for her because her oldest child of 6 kids cut her out of his and his family's life many years ago and she's had ZERO contact with her two grandkids from him because of it. PITY NO MORE! Obviously she did something terrible.

The worst part is that I didn't feel angry the rest of the day- but horribly sad. Because I truly did nothing to warrant the vicious nature in which she spoke down to me and I have no idea where it came from. I'm dreading going back to work next week because it's going to be so embarassing if my manager feels the need to drag it out longer.

So that's what happened yesterday. I can count LESS than one hand the number of "confrontations" in my life where I spoke up to someone giving me attitude for no reason and it was not pretty.

The good news is that another co-worker was witness to the entire thing so it will be hard for her to twist anything to her favor.

SO ANYWAY!! I have a busy day ahead of me. Let's see if I actually get anything done!!

L8R Gnomies!

LL-Too funny about the fruit cocktail! Here's to an uneventful MIL dinner tonight!
CP-Totally awesome lunch plans! You'll have to let us know how the French theme went!
JJ-So so so sorry to hear about your friend! :sad2:

Morning girls!

Too funny about dessert LL :rotfl2: You can always go to DQ when she leaves! Last night I was just so annoyed at my family that after the boys went to bed, I went out and got myself another blizzard :sad2:

Julez, you never told us what happened at work yesterday. It's your day off, where are you? Spill the beans girl!

OK, I see we posted at the same time, gonna go read now

Oh Julez! That is just awful. I hate stupid drama.

I hope you have a productive day! :thumbsup2

That sucks Julez but it sounds like you covered your butt and with a witness to the confrontation, I imagine you should be fine. Hugs

Oh man Julez, that IS ridiuclous! I hate it when stupid people take their bad days out on others, especially when they don't do anything. Glad you have a witness though! Hope you have a much better day today! :thumbsup2

OH how I miss DQ! My favorites were always the chocolate dipped cone and the Banana Split Blizzard! If I ate one of those now, I'd totally break out in hives! :confused3Stupid allergies!

My aunt and uncle are taking my cousin Taylor to WDW this week. The last time she went she was 5 (now 13), and my aunt vowed never to take her again until she was older because she was scared of everything and had to leave during the middle of rides or when they just through the lines just before the ride! I mean The Little Mermaid show, Pooh...everything:rotfl: So, my aunt was emailing me last month because they got a free $2500 gift card from my uncles work and she decided it was time to go again. They're leaving tomorrow, spending the night in Florence, SC on friday, then Savannah on saturday and Cocoa Beach, FL on sunday. They're staying for 4 days 3 nights at the Wilderness Lodge and doing the Counter Service dining plan. I told her all my opinions about food, but of course I am super jealous and really want to go with them! :yay:

How is everyone else's day going?

Oooh, they are going to LOVE Wilderness Lodge, I hope they take the boat! :rotfl:

My day is okay. It's hot in our office today and of course I wore a long sleeve shirt since it had been so cold inhere for the last few days. I can't take it off either since I just have a tank top underneath. Bah!

I'm dreaming about my weekend and how I have NOTHING planned. I am so excited. Marc got a $25 Target Giftcard for his Birthday from his work so we are going to see what we can spend it on. :rotfl2: I'm hoping a new bookcase, let's see if I can persuade him. :rolleyes1

That's one resort we didn't get to in december, wilderness lodge will definitely be a place to hit during Gnomefest, especially if we do WCC!

I totally understand about the shirt! Our science building (where my office is) goes from super super extreme cold to blazing hot, depending on if/when they decided to turn the heat on because of the cold weather, then it takes the boilers FOREVER to turn back off. Today it's 62 outside, but about 45 inside

Ooh, target giftcard! I'll cross my fingers for you for the bookcase. Work your magic LL! :wizard:

Marc is usually awesome about getting things for the house, so I am sure I won't have to work too hard. He's good like that. :goodvibes

WL is so beautiful and relaxing. Granted I was so relaxed I just wanted to sleep but man, did I have some good dreams! :rotfl2:

Ladies...Mr. Nobby has arrived safely at my doorstep!!!:banana:
Blake called and said "I think your Gnome came" and then started singing the Travelocity song

Thanks again C for getting him to me so quickly!
I'll post pics of him when I get home later :goodvibes

Yay for Nobby!! I can't to see pictures of him, I miss the little guy!

Ooh, I can't wait to meet Nobby!

LL, how ya doing? A few more hours and you can go back to normal life!

I just got a call from my SIL. they made the decision to take a last minute trip back to Iowa for the weekend so they are coming to our house to visit on Saturday. I'm very excited! I was thinking the boys and I would make a bunny cake on Saturday but now I think I'll make cupcakes instead and get some different choices for decorating and let the kids have some fun.

Since Greg has tomorrow off we have various appointments with heating/cooling guys, contractors and the real estate agent. Add Easter on Sunday - hiding stuff after the boys go to bed then having them wake up early and a LOT of cooking for just the 4 of us (but it is important to do of course) and I'm going to need another day off on Monday

I'm good Katie. I think I'm going to stop and get an ice cream cake for Marc. I really do wish I had the guts to do the fruit cocktail bit. :lmao:

Oooh, my Mom used to make bunny cakes. The cupcakes sound like a fun activity for the kids.

I totally feel what you are saying about needing another day off, that is how I felt about last weekend. I think that is why I am looking forward to the weekend so much! :woohoo:

Ooh, I love ice cream cakes! Good call.

I'm thinking M&M's, jelly beans and maybe some toasted coconut to look like a nest or green tinted coconut to look like grass (although the coconut is really more for me, I don't think any of the kids will want it, but hey, there will be 4 grown-ups too!) I'll throw some sprinkles in the mix and it should be a fun thing to do.

Those all sound good, I always liked the spice drops or gum drops. Whatever they are called. Yum Yum. Coconut is good too! Fun to decorate with.

I like the spice drops but it's the kind of thing that only I would eat and I don't like them enough to justify an entire bag and nobody else in the house would eat them. I bought an entire bag to decorate Daniel's birthday cake (I only needed 6 total!) and finally threw out the leftovers recently, guess I should have held onto them huh!

How bad is it that I ate lunch less than 1 hour ago and I'm already looking forward to dinner? I sauteed chicken breasts for dinner last night and made mashed potatoes too. I also made a sauce for my chicken (nobody else in the house would want it so it was on the side) with spinach, mushrooms, white wine and feta cheese - so yummy!
