Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

Geez, guys! I step away for ONE DAY and all heck breaks loose!

Katie- that is shocking, to say the least. I understand both you AND Greg's feelings right
now but I think the thing to do is just stay positive, stay supportive, and remember everyone
is different. 23 is young, when you're unmarried, however... it was supposed to happen so how
she deals with it will be very important and if she doesn't have people to support her emotionally,
then it will be harder to deal with it in a healthy manner. I think you should just advise
Greg to keep the lines of communication open, and proceed with whatever plans to get together
you had been making! :flower3:

LL- Thanks for the update w/Nobby! It's good to know where the little booger is!

Jess- That is CRAZY you witnessed that! :grouphug:I hope also that the woman called her Dr. With elderly
people, a lot of them are on an aspirin therapy. When they fall and hit their heads, they
can indeed easily cause a slow bleed that can result in sudden fatality! Esp. since she
is apparently a cancer pt, she should be checking that out. So sad...

Paula- that was a great point for Katie. Definitely an oppurtunity for Greg and you to show
the kids that Mom and Dad will support you whatever life brings or whatever you do. And I'm sorry
about your Dad. That's really sad.

CP- I love that you got so much done. Not that you wouldn't! I wish I had a 10th of your
go-gettem attitude, girl! I need to drink a cup of "I'm so tired but I think I'll mop the
floor, wash the blinds, weed the garden, and then whip up a batch of cookies before making dinner!" :laundy:

LL & Jess- I like my MIL, but she also lives about as far away as she possibly could from us-
near Sacramento, CA. It makes the heart grow fonder- definitely! :rolleyes1

Alright ladies.... gotta hit the sack. Have my horrible Wednesday to muddle through. Which is
typically around 50 patients and it's ALLLL MEEE! Yay!! OTTFV. :sad2:

Hi ladies!

Happy Wednesday!! This week is a 4 day week for me (we have Friday off as a holiday) so it is especially happy!!

CP- you are having such a productive spring break! I am jealous. Can you send me some of your energy for the weekend so I can make some progress on my slum/house? ;) I have to head over to your PTR to see if you've shared the tip envelopes and countdown calendar! Me thinks I may have to go to Payless to check out lime green flip flops w/ a rhinestone...

LL- Bah on the MIL drama. Oh and on Nobby, Julez is now going a little before Paula, Jen and I. Maybe she'd like to take him and then transfer him over to us? Seems like Nobby should be with us on our birthdays if we can manage it. :upsidedow

Jess - how scary a thing to witness! I hope she seeks medical attention too!

Katie- oy... that's a tough thing to wrestle with for all of you. I wish I had some advice but instead I'll just send hugs  and an offer that you can vent anytime!

Julez- hope Wed. isn't as crazy as you think it will be. :goodvibes

Paula- you're in the home stretch heading toward your new job!

What is the funniest thing you've seen in WDW?

Ya know... as I'm thinking about this I realize that I'm on these boards so much that I am starting confuse my own personal memories with pictures and TRs I see on these boards! :rotfl: So the two funniest things that come to my mind did not happen to me personally...

Candlelight Processional. Kind of a "serious" occasion. Jesus and all. And at night. After sundown. I posted a link to this thread a while back but there was a picture of a rather large (and hairy, if memory serves) man who came in, sat down on the bench and took his shirt off. :scared:

Can't remember where I saw this one so couldn't begin to go back and find the photo but somewhere there is a picture of a woman so drunk? tired? that she was passed out in one of the Disney provided blue strollers (baby carts as Marc would call them!) and was being pushed by her husband. :lmao:

Stace -- I have this hilarious image of a moose with a snow brush cleaning off your car now. :lmao: Oh and you must think of an outing for Nobby and you!

CP -- I saw lime green flip flops with a little rhinestone at Payless, if those are Chelsea's they are super cute! She's a little DISer in training! ;)

C -- Great question! I will have to think. I also agree that Julez should def. have Nobby on her birthday!

Julez -- Good luck with Wednesday! Today will be a great day for me as my boss is out.

Thanks for letting me vent everyone. It's just so annoying, if it's not one thing with her it's another. Lately I am getting more annoyed with her antics over the phone, in person she has been fairly pleasant. Oh and she mentioned getting together in April again. Bah. Apparently she didn't schedule anything in March since we had a family gathering...that I wasn't able to go too. What-EV. :rotfl2:

:lmao: Trust me, most days I just seem to have a cup of "I think I'll just sit here and DIS." I think part of it is that I actually made a to-do list of sorts with everything I wanted to accomplish -- so now I have to do it all so I can cross it off my list.

Yeay for a 4-day day week!

I think I am about done being productive -- today we are going to dye eggs, and I am going to scrapbook some (still trying to finish last June's trip before this June).

I haven't posted yet -- I think I am going to wait until the weekend -- maybe even wait until the Easter baskets are done.

CP -- I saw lime green flip flops with a little rhinestone at Payless, if those are Chelsea's they are super cute! She's a little DISer in training! ;)

I bet they are the same ones -- they are really cute -- wish they had come in my size. Did you find some work shoes yesterday?

Joy of joys on more gatherings in April. :scared: So, is she still about as close even after the move?

I did find work shoes but I am not loving them. I did find a website this morning that has a pair of "dressier" crocs that I can wear to work. They even offer free overnight shipping, so I think I will order those tomorrow when Marc gets paid. I am having such shoe issues lately. I also think I need new sneakers. Bah.

MIL is about as close as before. She wants to get together on the 18th or 19th while Marc is at his work training but I want the weekend to myself, I plan to enjoy my new apartment and do some crafting. :thumbsup2

It stinks when you have to spend money on "unfun" stuff, doesn't it?

I don't blame you for wanting the weekend to yourself -- I am often the same way -- almost all the time actually.

We are very similar in that respect, CP. My time is my time and I don't want to share it with many people or things. :rotfl2:

I hate spending money on unfun stuff. Ugh, it's so annoying yet necessary. I feel the same way about oil changes. :rotfl2:

Morning girls!

Thanks for all your hugs and support. Paula and Jess, it really helps to hear from someone with personal experience in separation. sometimes I have to remind myself that I grew up in a very idealized home life and the world is not like that and I have to deal with the situations that come, like it or not, ideal or not. I think when I log off here I will send Krissy a message, we haven't talked in a week or so.

Yikes Jess:scared: what an experience. Good for you for keeping an eye on her and acting quickly!

Sorry LL about MIL drama. Glad we can be a place for you to vent, sometimes that's all you need to feel better.

Stace, sorry you had a tough day at work yesterday. I hope your moose did a good job of clearing off the new car without getting hoof prints on it!

Hang in there Julez, only 1 more work day till your day off!

CP, what' on the to-do list today? I am making more calls and setting up appointments. Since Greg has Friday off, we are trying to get several people in to give us estimates on house work and we meet again with the real estate agent.

Greg and I discussed a plan that involves us getting a mortgage on our house (we currently are purchasing directly from the previous owner). this would allow us to take advantage of the tax rebates and take out money from our equity to pay off our credit cards and make the major changes the real estate agent suggested. Doing this should allow us to pay off both cars in the next 2 years then we can start the building process. we've been talking about a new house "sometime in the future" for a couple years now. I'm very excited that we have a plan in place to get it done and a timeframe for the new place

AAGH :headache: I almost forgot...last night Greg suggested going out to dinner. We ordered our food and Greg turns to Patrick and says "So, tell me what happened at school today" :scared: Patrick starts crying and says he doesn't want to talk about it. Finally he fessed up and informed me that he had given a boy a wedgie at school. When I asked what he was thinking he said he thought it would be funny. I asked where he got the idea he told me he had heard a couple of kids talking about it. The 2 names he gave are the 2 kids in his class who get in the most trouble. We talked about listening to kids who are bullies and about how the other boy might have felt and Patrick had to go home and write him a note apologizing for what he did. :sad2: OTTFV

Car maintenance is the worst! :lmao:

If I didn't have to buy unfun things I could afford DVC -- which I really, really, really want.

Egg dying and scrapbooking are on my to-do list for today. Both of those should be pretty fun. I bought a Star Wars egg dying kit (and a regular one) -- it comes with those egg wrapper things so I am looking forward to shrink-wrapping Han Solo on an egg. :lmao:

Your plan sounds great! I always feel better when I have a plan.

Oh no! Poor Patrick! Parenting is such a minefield sometimes! I bet Patrick learns from this -- bet he doesn't listen to those two bullies anymore either.

Oh no! I can just imagine Patrick bursting into tears. I was like that as a kid, if I knew I did something wrong and my parents didn't know yet at one point I would just burst into tears and confess. :rotfl2: I bet he doesn't listen to those kids anymore. :thumbsup2

Wow...it amazes me how when one gnomie has a bad day it seems that the rest of us seem to have a bad day and then we all just support each other and that just makes my heart fill up with love.

Yesterday afternoon my dad called and told me a dear friend from high school was hit by a car while walking to work and was killed. I was extremely saddened by this especially thinking of the beautiful little girl that she had left at home who will now never know the amazing person her mother was...so it was a rough day.

Speaking of in laws you all know I love mine but I can't wait for tomorrow morning. They aren't driving me crazy but at the same time I want my Spring Break and I want the option to lay around in my pjs and just spend the day on here talking with all of you and doing absolutely nothing.

Jess...wow what a day I'm sorry you had to deal with that scary situation that is incredible. I hope that lady ends up being okay!!

CP....scrapbooking and egg dying can I come join you????

LL...OTTDVDV your MIL .....ugh I'm sorry!

Katie...your sons are just adorable and what a sweet heart your son has. I'm glad he confessed and I'm sure he'll think twice before listening to certain people in his classroom again!!!

Nobby...oh it warms my heart I will be seeing NObby again soon!! Disney on Ice and then Disney World....I just need to think on these happy thoughts.

Jen, I am so sorry about your friend. That is just so sad. I had a friend from high school die in a car accident almost two years ago so I know how hard that is.

I totally understand how you feel about just wanting to be in your pjs and not worrying about company. :thumbsup2

Think happy thoughts for sure because in 44 days we'll be in Disney together!! :woohoo::hug: :grouphug: :woohoo:

Oh Jen  Sorry about your freind, what a terrible circumstance! I agree, it is so comforting knowing I can pop on the Dis and have a group of "strangers" who I prefer to call friends to be there to listen, support and give advice.

CP, I love those egg wrappers, they are so fun to dip in the water and watch them shrink right up, Star Wars sounds really cute!

I knew you would understand!! TY!!!! I'm so not going to be doing anything this weekend LOL!!!

44 days is that it....that is simply fantastic...I cannot wait!

Thank you Katie!!! I hope you guys are having a great day. Do the boys get Friday off from school?

Egg Wrappers??? Star Wars??? Where does one find these??? Sounds like something a few boys at church would love and on Easter I like to pass out things to the little ones in Junior Church!

You can usually find those Egg Wrappers anywhere with the Eye Dye kits. I agree, the Egg Wrapeprs are really a lot of fun! We did those a lot when we were younger. :goodvibes

See this is my problem I am new to this whole egg dying thing. We never did that growing up LOL...I can only imagine the disaster it will be the first time we dye eggs at our house. I guess I should start practicing but then again if I told Prince Phillip why I was dying eggs for practice he might think I was insane LOL

C'mon up! I am going to do Norway and Morocco page layouts today for the Disney scrapbook -- I am almost done with all the Epcot pages which will leave DHS and POFQ pages.

I am always fascinated by them -- it's my favorite part of egg dying. :lmao:

I found the Star Wars kit at Target awhile back and snatched it up -- like LL said they are with the other egg dying kit. It also comes with stickers and a tie-fighter egg holder. :rotfl:

:scared1::scared1::scared1: You have never dyed Easter Eggs! I can't fathom that. Your poor deprived soul! You must go dye Easter Eggs...this very minute! :rotfl2:
