Remember my friend Amara who didn't book her trip until two weeks before, did no research, and had no game plan???

Well, she is down there right now and not enjoying herself very much.

Disney lost their reservation at WL, so they upgraded them to Yacht Club, upgraded their dining plan, and gave them a gift card. Hello? Talk about scoring if you ask me.

Then, they have no game plan whatsoever so there has been a lot of fighting about what to do and when.

I kid you not, she has texted me so many times telling me how miserable she is.

This is why it is necessary to plan more than two weeks in advance.

Oh, you lucky, lucky girl!!! Cheeseburgers in paradise -- sigh!

I am alive -- and unfortunately feeling well enough to go to work tomorrow -- so basically I got to spend my weekend sick with no sick day as compensation.

Oh well. I am living vicariously through Amara -- they are watching Spectro as I am typing this. The subtext is that her husband is freaking out about going on Splash next because the thought of the drop scares him.

Stacy- I'm SOOO sorry for your family's loss. That is a tragedy and they will be in my prayers.

Without further ado- Rachael's 4th Runner-Up Trophy win yesterday!! She's hooked now. She said the crown was "all right" but she really wanted to add to her trophy collection! She also did the "best dressed" optional, but another little girl won that (a medal) and she showed very good sportsmanship by not getting upset about it. There were 8 girls in her age division. She wasn't nervous at all- until she got up stage. She froze a little bit but she really enjoyed herself after it was over and the biggest thing was- while we were getting her dressed- I discovered she has PINK EYE!!!! Poor kid- was up there on stage squinting one eye. I started her on antiobiotics and she's staying home from school today to hopefully avoid infecting other kids. I offered she could stay home- but NO WAY! She was DOING her pageant!

She is so proud of her trophy collection now. She's got 4 and 2 medals. This little is hooked on success! And THAT is what makes me happiest.... it made me so happy to see her happy and proud w/that trophy. Especially since she "modified" her haircut a few weeks ago and has been extremely self conscious about looking "like a boy". She learned her lesson though- she won't be cutting her own hair again, I'd bet!

Horray for Rachael!! I know how if feels to be happy at your daughters success!! It's wonderful to see them develop the self confidence!! Tell her congrats from me and Allison! I showed A her pic and she was like wow look at that awesome trophy!

Jackie I hope you are feeling better and taking a day off to get some much needed rest that is what really put me on the road to recovery. AND OMG could you imagine what you would do with your friend's upgrade and she is unhappy, I'm sure any of us would be through the roof. Good morning, Gnomies! I am here at school, Jen, simply because the thought of getting together lesson plans for five classes seemed too overwhelming to me.

Julez, Rachel is too, too, too cute!

Amara update: They watched Spectro, rode Splash and POTC, and were headed to Buzz when she last texted me a little after ten -- oh, and they stopped to watch the fireworks. It really doesn't sound like it is too crowded down there right now. How I wish I was there right now instead of sitting here wondering how I am going to get through my day without passing out.
