Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

Good Morning Gang----

Tom, Megs, and I literally did not leave the house at all this weekend---not even once!!! We got to stay in---because it was cold and rainy---and chill out all weekend long. I think we all needed a weekend to relax......I mean, I did do laundry, and cook, and reorganize Megan's bedroom......but for the most part, I got to relax with my favorite two people!! YEAH!

Tom and I dreamed about scheduling Free Dining---we want to set it up so badly, but he said that he needed to ask his boss a couple things about how taking vacation is going to affect their department now (hopefully he is doing that today) and once we get the okay, we are booking for sure! I'm a little up in the air about where, but that can be quickly figured out I'm sure!

My mom is having back surgery on Wed, so my DISing will probably be sporadic this week---keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

Jess, I think if Blake had a video camera that it would make for a hilarious video of waking you up in the morning. :rotfl2:;)

Jen, I am the same way! My house has to be super clean for company. I am having a panic attack about MIL & FIL coming over Friday night to the new apartment. Ugh. Granted they won't expect much but you know, I still want it to look as nice as possible.

I can only imagine all the gnomies trying to wake me up for rope drop next year. :rotfl2:I'm ok if I have been getting up early on a regular basis, but those first few mornings of getting into a new schedule..man, I am no good!

Jen, LL-I am the SAME way about having the house super clean. I even went home on friday between running things for school so that I KNEW everything was clean before I got home, just in case our company arrived early

LL-Good luck with the moving! I can't believe there's less than a week left!

C-Glad you made it home safe! The T&C is definitely one place in the Caribbean I want to visit. The views look just like San Salvador this past summer :lovestruc

P, MM, Julez, CP-Hope you have a great start to the week!

I just wanted to chime in that I become hyper critical of spiders and webs when people are visiting for the 1st time!!

And Jess- I'll be happy to physically pick you up and set you in the bathroom during Gnomefest! Or I'll knock on your door and take a picture of your DBF doing so!

Jen O- Too funny about making 1 room off-limits! That's a good idea!! I'll do THAT next time we have company!! ::yes::

Megan's Jen- I LOOOOVE when I don't have to leave for a whole weekend! That's my idea of paradise! Second to Disney of course.... I'll def. be thinkin' of your mommy this week!

Good Evening Gnomies!!!

Well so much for uneventful...about 9am this morning I got an email from my hubby saying that the roof in his room was on fire and that he was evacuating his classroom. I didn't worry too much because he didn't have children in the room and I knew he was getting out. I even joked with LL about it. However shortly there after my assistant principal came into my room and asked to speak to me in the hallway. He informed me that there had been an accident at Phillip's school and they were taking him to the ER. Apparently when he went to turn the lights on in his room a ballast in the lights exploded and caused a release of some toxic gases in the room (he thought was smoke) and it triggered an asthma attack and shortly after that it the gased triggered a reaction that started to burn his eyes and nose pretty badly. He immediately rinsed them and went to the clinic where they rinsed his eyes with saline, however the school insisted he be checked thoroughly and the next thing I know I'm being told he is on his way to the hospital in an ambulance and he has the car and I have no way to get there. Thankfully my assistant principal dropped everything he was doing and took me to our car and then I was able to meet up with Phillip and the ER. I had called my Pastor and he was already there and had called to tell me Phillip was fine and to drive safely. After about 4 hours and a couple of procedures that make chinese water torture look humane we are home and are resting. I'm exhausted and just plain tired. I'm going to call it an early night and be glad that I only have to make it through 4 more days until Spring Break even if it means my inlaws will be here LOL!

Oh, Jen. I am so glad Phillip is okay and that you are both home safe and sound. What a scary incident! :scared1:

My goodness, how scary! I am so glad he is ok and that you both are resting at home!:hug:

Oh my gosh Jen. :scared1: What a scary thing to happen to you and Phillip. I hope you both get to rest well tonight. Give him extra hugs and have him give you some from your gnomies.

Oh my goodness Jen!! What a nightmare! I'm so glad everything is OK though:hug:

yay for such a great Asst principal:yay:

paula

I thought something scary had happened after reading your TR today! So glad that Phillip is alright!!

Well, what a craptastic Monday this has been! But let's start with the good stuff:
NKOTB were fantabulous!!:woohoo: Lauren and I went to see them for my birthday this past September and I think this show may have been even better! Sorry, I didn't take any photos. But they sang all the old hits and the new ones too! Joey wore a gold lame jacket from the good ol' days and it was very exciting! (he was my fave - we're still gonna get married;)) I cheered and sang my lungs out and my voice is still scratchy! This was actually my fifth NKOTB concert (spanning from 1990 to now), but the first time they ever played in my hometown! I've always seen them in Toronto! They wore Team Canada jerseys for Hangin' Tough and Donnie had a Canadian flag patch sewn on the back of his boxers (which he showed us!!!:woohoo:) My favourite part was of course hearing Joey sing Please Don't Go Girl! Has been my favourite part of their shows since I was 9! It was a ton of fun!

In other news - well, so much for that promotion! Our store is doing so poorly in sales that they've cut our hours down (25 a week!). So they've decided the store is small enough that we don't need an assistant manager, and not only that, :mad:but I (as the only fulltimer besides the manager), have been bumped down to part-time and had my hours cut. I am fuming angry and worried and frustrated and feeling quite pressured!:headache: They expect us to sell at least $50 to each person who comes in, but people can't afford to spend a bunch of money on shower gel and body lotion in a recession!!! People aren't spending! I worked until 9pm tonight, and no one came in past 6:30pm! They're aren't customers to sell to! So now I'm gonna have to look for another part time job I guess...ugh!:sad2: Sorry, had to vent it out...thanks for listening. It could be worse, I could still be totally unemployed! I should look on the bright side:rolleyes:

But needless to say, I definately wont be making that solo trip in September! I'm saving for Gnomefest!:thumbsup2

Jen(j) - :hug:Oh I hope you and Prince Phillip are okay! That truly is a scary incident. I hope you have a nice restful and safe spring break!

Paula - I missed that you had gotten the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cheer2::woohoo::yay::goodvibes You're gonna rock it!

C - I am truly jealous! Looks like you and Nobby had a great time in a beautiful place! I'm glad you had fun!:goodvibes

Oh NO Stace!! That is horrible!! Potential promotion to hours cut!?:confused3
You're right to look on the brightside though, at least you still have the job right now. Just keep your head up, don't get too frustrated girl!

Good morning, Gnomies!

Stace that bites!!! I hope it looks up for you!

Everyone have a great day!

Sorry Stace that your job news isn't good  It sounds like you are enjoying it too which makes it hard to think about having to go out there and job search again. Hang in there.

Jen, how is Phillip this morning?

Stace, I am so sorry about your job! NKOTB sounds like so much fun!

Good Morning Gnomies. I didn't sleep at all last night. I couldn't fall asleep or stay asleep. I even got up before my alarm went off. I'm exhausted. I feel like I have so much to do that I wasn't able to shut my brain down last night.

Good Morning Gnomies!!!

Thank you for all your well wishes, Prince Phillip is doing good even if he is too stubborn to stay home at least a day and fully recover. He still has a pretty good headache from the inhalation, but he refused to stay home. I told him no more emails about his room being on fire.

Stace...I'm sorry to hear about your job hours. I hope everything works out

Stacy...that stinks!! Stupid recession. Hope things pick up for you. Is there another store nearby that you can split your time maybe??

LL...sorry about the lack of sleep...believe me I KNOW how that feels uurrrgghhh!!!:sad2:

Jen (JJ) so glad PP is up and about... silly boy, I would have taken the day off, perfect excuse too:rolleyes:

Did you see that they're making a Toy Story Mania game for the Wii...complete with 3D glasses??? how fun is THAT???!!! I'm Soooo making Kyle move the Wii down to the living room so I can play it!!:yay:

I got my upstairs foyer started. Got the bookcases all cleared off, cleaned, back together, a big bag of trash, and 2 boxes for goodwill.... all in the 1st hour of my day. I hope I continue to be this productive:upsidedow

Paula

Jen---hope is PP is doing well, even though he wouldn't stay home!!!!

Stace---so sorry to hear about the job situation--hope something works out for you soon!

LL--I can never sleep well when I have lots going on too---and girlie, you have LOTS going on!!! Hope you get some rest soon!

It is a rainy, chilly day here---I'm missing the sun!!! But, at least it is keeping me inside so I can finish some reorganization that I have been meaning to do in a spare bedroom. I hope I get it all finished!!!!

Good morning ladies:goodvibes

Thanks for letting me vent out all of my frustrations. The "too good to be true" really poofed in my face yesterday and I needed to get it out. You're all great friends!:grouphug: Who knows what will happen next! I went down and talked to my old boss at the bookstore on my last break and he offered me 4 hours a week. I might do that...I guess we'll see how it goes...I'm still ok for now but when I start paying to run the house....but I'm not worrying about it! I'm doing the irresponsible thing instead and taking myself shopping in the states for a couple of days!:rolleyes1:cloud9:

Jen(j) - I can't believe Prince Phillip actually got up and went to work today! I would have milked it for all it was worth! ;) But I'm glad that a headache is all that lingers. Oooooh yeah, I totally forgot!!! I saw your doppleganger the other night!!!! It was sooooooooooo strange!! I was in the grocery store picking up lasagna noodles and there you were!:upsidedow

LL - Oh I hate those nights when you just lie there and toss and turn and the sandman just stands you up! I hope you start to feel better. Don't stress too much, you definately need your rest for the move!
